I think a lot of the fans seem to still think we’re that team from earlier in the season and we will revert back to that if the momentum stops, but I don’t think we have to worry about that now. Yes we might not win every game as we have been but I don’t think that fight and team spirit is going anywhere.

Not so sure about that. At my age the memory is fragile but from what I recall we don’t do so well after breaks.

I always wonder what people expect them to do tho when all your internationals are not there to train with everyone else, 

it's not as good a time to gel better as a team as people always make out unless your squad has no internationals, we probally get more out our training on a week with no midweek games than we do out of international breaks

 

but I do think it will do the team some good some time to recover from injuries and illness which are on the books presently, and give them time to enjoy the result they had more than anything

 

also I think it's pretty funny how most sunderland fans now are using "mind the gap" as their only come back for the result, only gap that anyone should be minding at the moment is the fact that the 2 top teams are 8 points clear everyone else at this stage of the season. usually takes a lot longer for teams to pull away at the top in this league, as far as I'm concerned everyone else below that are all just the inconsistent teams, who all need to step up their game if they want to go up

Just saying. In Qatar the WC stadiums look impressive. I went to the mall over the weekend (Friday & Saturday) and there was heavily discounted WC memorabilia available. The formula one was also on and well attended. Doha is a very modern clean city, advanced technology, good linked transport system Underground, taxi, Uber, bus services, electric scooters and friendly. As a visitor it’s a must to carry a passport and residency requirement is a ID system. Once registered transactions are a breeze. Locals make up around 8% of the population.  Dress code is modest but I was out in shorts and polo shirt. Bars are in hotels and pricy.

I'm sure the majority of our fans would and have done the same if someone from our fan-base did the same thing too. Good to see, nonetheless. No place for it, nothing to do with team colours or rivalries.
