Middlesbrough vs Birmingham 1-0 (Rogers)

Featured Replies

Hackey got booked today which makes it 4 yellows and one away from a suspension.

Hopefully he avoids the yellow v Norwich and if he is to get his 5th then it is it Stoke so he misses the league cup game as I would be resting him for that game anyway

Crooks looks a clumsy player but he isn't and he chips in with goals and assists.  He played through an injury . Pound for pound, an excellent signing.

On a separate note,  Dieng was very good again. He is looking like the best keeper since Randolph.

2nd in the form table right now, ahead of Ipswich by a goal.

Trouble is, teams like Leicester and Burney keep their form going all season. We tend to have really good spells (like now), and periods where we drop down the form table. We need to be more consistent if we're ever going to go up via the autos (or God forbid, Champions...)

Really pleased for Barlaser. I thought it wasn’t going to work out for him here but he’s taken his chance well and got a good partnership going with Hackney. Engel had another good match, Fry and Paddy very strong at the back. Only change I’d make is to bring ELL back into the first 11. I don’t think it’ll be long.

This is fine by me, though. If we reach play-offs again this season, I'd be chuffed.

Yeah. It just felt like we'd have a real push for autos after last season. We might still do of course.

I'd at least like a trip to Wembley this season. League Cup or play offs. Either will do 😉

Great performance today felt we controlled the game well Birmingham never really had any moments. We persevered kept knocking on that door and got the break through.. It's great to see players that in the first few games of the season were struggling are now contributing well like Rodgers to come in and get the winner is great to see.  Felt Barlaser and Engel had good games aswell.  On another note though that Pa system needs turning down abit was louder than a concert pre match

We dont need to go up as champions. 6th place and a flukey playoff will do me to reach the prem riches

Brilliant result, sounds like we should have had a few more aswell. Crooks just can't help himself, I love the big tree.

So chuffed with the togetherness exhibited from the top down. the faith, patience and comaradarie behind the scenes feels a bit special with MCs Boro. When you see what's happening with other clubs and knee-jerk sackings etc, makes you realise how hard this piece is to achieve. Still a WIP and much more to come though.

Hoping we can keep supporting Carrick and the honchos through the ups and the downs, really feel like we are building something here and will become more of a force the more we stick to our 'new' guns.

It's very funny because he's the "stat guy" that so many people try to use to prove their point.

Just another fan throwing stuff at yhe fan.

saints, we went a goal down after gifting them a goal and came back to win, should have scored more tbh. good well deserved win/

watford, they came back to 2-2 and we then dominated and deservedly won away from home.

daffs easy win.

sunland easy win.

brum, easy win on reflection, but left it late.

i'd say it was extremely favorable because we were the better team for the majority of all them games.

I thought we were excellent today.

Engel looks a completely different player, he's no longer running in mud and he clearly can cross and shoot. However is tackling and physicality defending was what impressed me the most today.

Coburn was off the pace. But he's good enough for this level and it'll come.

Greenwood was poor I thought, but again I can see a good player there and his effort is good. £1.5m is a no brainer.

ELL and Rogers I bother really like. Once fully settled and integrated they give us an x factor.

Crooks much improved. An assist as well. Goal contributions matter.

Hackney is the best midfielder outside the Prem.

Barlaser was exceptional today. Great to see him getting a run.

Dieng seems such a good buy, he's better than Steffen. And I think better than Randolph too.

All other players not mentioned effectively did their job well. Hope Smith isn't out for too long but we do have cover.

We dominated this game, Carrick ball is back.

That engel interview that borodane posted really shined a light into his mentality and it really does seem like he flipped a switch
