I thought we were excellent today.

Engel looks a completely different player, he's no longer running in mud and he clearly can cross and shoot. However is tackling and physicality defending was what impressed me the most today.

Coburn was off the pace. But he's good enough for this level and it'll come.

Greenwood was poor I thought, but again I can see a good player there and his effort is good. £1.5m is a no brainer.

ELL and Rogers I bother really like. Once fully settled and integrated they give us an x factor.

Crooks much improved. An assist as well. Goal contributions matter.

Hackney is the best midfielder outside the Prem.

Barlaser was exceptional today. Great to see him getting a run.

Dieng seems such a good buy, he's better than Steffen. And I think better than Randolph too.

All other players not mentioned effectively did their job well. Hope Smith isn't out for too long but we do have cover.

We dominated this game, Carrick ball is back.

I'd like to report this comment to the admins, it's inevitable that someone's hacked his account, can you retrieve it for him thanks

Crooks looks a clumsy player but he isn't and he chips in with goals and assists.  He played through an injury . Pound for pound, an excellent signing.

On a separate note,  Dieng was very good again. He is looking like the best keeper since Randolph.

saints, we went a goal down after gifting them a goal and came back to win, should have scored more tbh. good well deserved win/

watford, they came back to 2-2 and we then dominated and deservedly won away from home.

daffs easy win.

sunland easy win.

brum, easy win on reflection, but left it late.

i'd say it was extremely favorable because we were the better team for the majority of all them games.

can we then put all our defeats down to similar reasons, if so it evens out lol

That engel interview that borodane posted really shined a light into his mentality and it really does seem like he flipped a switch

you can probs apply the same sort of logic and mindset to the other lads that come in and struggled as well early doors

Just watched one of the brum supporters videos. Jones looks like he was onside for his disallowed goal. Second screenshot the ball has already been played.

i was inline with that and it looked like a clear offside in Realtime shows you how hard it is to spot a well timed run.

Watching it, I got up to get a drink and didn't even for a second consider that it might have been allowed as he looked a mile offside.

All about angles and split second decisions, despite the above evidence I still think he was a couple of yards offside, although had we lost or drawn I might have a slightly different view seeing those photos ☺️

I love how much effort is put in to find the most uncharitable interpretation possible. Like, Southampton. Firstly they'd only lost 5 in a row before that and we were the sixth. But also, they haven't lost since. If losing a bunch in a row is all it took to make it so you'd lose again, you'd have thought they'd be even easier afterwards, right? But instead they followed it up by beating third-place Leeds. I can only imagine how lucky Leeds must be doing to do that well...

The Watford one is obviously laughable. "They played badly", no thought to why. The Sunderland sending off being "nonsense" is, um, a subjective take shall we say and ignores how clinical we were. And Birmingham's "new style of play" is meant to be possession-based, yet we had over 60% of the ball. It's not like they were struggling to make their new style of play work through inexperience, we just stopped them even being able to implement it in the first place by being better than them.

And even IF you decide it's an easy run of games... so? We already had an easy run of games before this, and we got 2 points from 7 games. Now we have 15 from 5. Independent of whatever nonsense you want to throw around the circumstances of it, the undeniable fact is that we look like the team of last season again, in both performance and results.

Rather surprised at the lack of posts this game especially after the IB.

Ok it does seem where there are no losses to complain about the total does come down but in this case he post count is more than halved compared to others.

Boro are looking good both attacking and defensive wise is the main thing but do admit would love the same result as last season when we visit Norwich on Tuesday

Although I don't agree with the tweet I think there's some merit in it. I also think he doesn't have an axe to grind; he's a fairly neutral observer who is well-disposed towards us. I don't think it's so much a "favourable" run of games as much as some good luck in the last 6 games.

We have definitely improved over the 12 games. Take the 12 games as a whole and we are probably roughly where we would expect to be when it comes to having to deal with the massive churn and reduction in quality of players. It's just that we have had two clumps of results.

The first six games we couldn't buy a lucky break but we also shot ourselves in the foot game after game. The last 6 games we have largely stopped the whole foot-shooting thing, tightened up our defence and had lucky breaks.

We probably played Southampton at just the right time. Watford: their manager screwed up in the first half (and admitted it) plus the keeper seemed to have some sort of ballphobia. (Bear in mind that the tweeter is a Watford fan so he is salty about that result.) Cardiff, a routine win. Sunderland: if that had been our player sent off we would be rightly raging. Although Sunderland were coming back into the game, we were still on track for a decent result there. Birmingham: again, a good time to play them.

We underperformed for a while. Now we're over-performing. We'll probably settle down to a level that is consistent with a 6th-10th placed team. I would love to think that we have won 5 games in a row because we're playing at a Burnley or Leicester level but we're not. Things have gone well for us, for a while and we have taken advantage.

I posted a lot less than I normally would, I probably account for about a third of the missing posts 😂

Thought it was a very enjoyable game and would have been a much more convincing victory if Mr Ruddy hadn't had that extra Weetabix and was very impressed with the performances of Barlaser and Fry in particular. No probs with ref other than the advantage decisions but if we had her every week, I would not object. Wasn't too well served by assistants but kept game under control and wasn't baffled by any actions so hope she gets more games at this level. We retained possession well and kept on top of their attack for majority of game. Crooks and Coburn by their physical presence alone make life very difficult for defenders and although we should convert more chances, the amount we create is testimony to the fact that the system works. Everybody was a 7 or 8 out of 10 and the difference a bit of confidence has made to some of the new lads is good to see. Would keep same team if Smith recovers as not point fixing something that isn't broken. Nice to see a strong bench and am very confident that we will be in contention again this year.   PS. Pay ransom for TJ otherwise defeat is inevitable 🙂
