i was inline with that and it looked like a clear offside in Realtime shows you how hard it is to spot a well timed run.

All I can say is VAR in the Championship can't come soon enough...This shows Officials need help in the case of the off side rule....Having said that I'm a firm believer these things even them selves out....Eventually

Crooks looks a clumsy player but he isn't and he chips in with goals and assists.  He played through an injury . Pound for pound, an excellent signing.

On a separate note,  Dieng was very good again. He is looking like the best keeper since Randolph.

But it was offside and the decision was correct. How does that make a case for VAR? I thought the officials were really good to be honest

I enjoyed the match and thought we outplayed Birmingham City. If it wasn’t for that Ruddy goalkeeper we would have had a hatful. As it’s was, he kept them in the game. I know some were critical of Crooks, but I thought he had a good game and if it wasn’t for Ruddy, he would have been my man of the match. Coburn struggled a bit with the timing of his runs and I think Latte Lathe is probably a more dynamic option going forwards.

It’s good to see us controlling games and winning, once we scored, we managed the game well and never looked like conceding. It’s nice not to have those anxious edge of the seat moments at the end of games.

Brilliant game yesterday. Had a feel from last season where before the game I thought we were going to dominate . Which we did. Lacked cutting edge in the final third but on another day could have been 4/5. Coburn looked raw yesterday, should have done better with 2 of his chances but still very promising. Latte lath looked good when he came on again. Our defence looks solid, shoutout to McNair and fry. Barlaser and Hackney ran the game, crooks and jones were class. Ruddy for them had a brilliant game.

As for the ref I thought she had a poor game, the advantage she didn’t play in the first 15 minutes. Also booking Engel for the head clash was baffling

Considering the standard of reffing, the fact that those are the only two instances you call out, she moat definitely did not have a poor game, relatively speaking. She was spot on imo

I think the post count is down because everything whilst perhaps not Rosy is certainly very positive. Even the "poor" signings are now finding their feet and contributing. Everywhere you look is a positive, Engel has come good, Fry and McNair are looking impressive, Crooks is bossing things, Dieng is looking way above anything we could have hoped for, Barlaser is coming on leaps and bounds and so on and so on.

Difficult to debate or disagree on things when we are all aligned I guess.

No it isn't 😁

seen a comment or 2 about the referree and pulling play back at 15 minutes.

TBF to her, she could have blown for a foul earlier and tried to play on, Greenwood was fouled a few times by the time she blew the whistle, it was just unfortunate for her that Greenwood managed to get a pass away that playe  in Crooks and Jones.

So more unfortunate than bad referring for me.

Also, regarding Engel, even accidental incidents can be fouls and earn a booking. This one did.

Love that Engel interview, the fact that he holds himself responsible and pulled himself out of it shows the character we need. He’s quickly becoming one of them players that are just ‘there’ like Dieng and Fry, reliable and always perform. Hopefully we start seeing more of his offensive game that i believe is his true quality.

Football is a funny game.

Our worst ever start followed by our best winning running in 7 years.

eh sure we won like 6/7 in a row last season with carrick, after a quick check we won 5 in a row between the sunderland and west brom defeats last season.

Uh....what? Engel was fortunate not to get sent off for that "challenge"

Other than not playing the advantage on a few occasions in the first half I thought the ref was absolutely fine. Certainly better than most male refs we've had this season.

Didn't notice the Ref apart from the slight delay due to the electronic gizmos not working properly before KO. The Advantage thing to me was just one of those damned if you do and damned if you don't that happens every week in games. The Engel booking looked a bit harsh until I saw it again and could see that whilst it wasn't with intent it could have been brutal and was more out of determined, desperation than wanting to clatter his opponent but it was dangerous so can't really complain.

Bottom line for me is that there are certain Referees I don't look forward to seeing at the Riverside but the one yesterday falls into the Magnolia category, didn't really notice them and not bothered if they Refereed us every week.

And at that point, it did kinda look like the chance had gone when Crooks miscued it. Obviously, the fact that Jones could get there changes things

VAR in the Championship can do one, dread the thought of going to a game and only half celebrating a goal knowing it can be chalked off for the most minor of incidents. Best thing about football is losing yourself in that moment an important goal is scored.

Could'nt agree more👍

3 Clean sheets in a row, what is our record under Carrick? I remember when we were winless someone posted the "xG Table" and we were in the top 6 so perhaps this is just a regression to the mean, we're still pretty terrible at finishing though.

This is the record under Carrick.

The best we'd managed previously was 2.
