We've managed to settle the hotly debated topic of Carrick vs Rooney once and for all, and nipped 3 cheeky points in the process. The squad are really shaping up to be a strong team in this league, and I'm looking forward to seeing if we're able to keep the momentum from the international break as we did against Brum. But can we do it in a cold, rainy night in Carrow Road?

Predicted Teams

Boro

Jones has been on fire lately, it's been brilliant watching him in matches recently. I'd also like to commend Crooks, someone who I'd honestly written off last season. He's creating chances and seems to have really found his stride. I'd be keeping Smith on at RB if he's fit as he's been doing well too.

Norwich

Norwich seem a little lost at the moment, sitting 10th on 17 points and working enough to hold their place. I believe that we're going to need to keep on our toes, with Norwich being a decent club that should be challenging for playoffs at the very least. They're bound to come out with a consistent set of results at some point and we need to be aware of that.

Here's their squad last time out:

Insights:

1. Norwich have lost their last two league games against Middlesbrough, conceding seven goals in those defeats after keeping six clean sheets in a row beforehand.

2. After a 2-1 win at Carrow Road last season, Middlesbrough are looking for consecutive away league wins against Norwich for the first time.

3. Norwich manager David Wagner has lost all three of his Championship matches against Middlesbrough, seeing his teams concede 10 goals while only scoring one in return.

Questions:

1. What's your score prediction?

2. Dandelion and Burdock or Irn Bru?

3. Coburn or Latte Lath?

I'm not so sure Smith will be available. I'd imagine RVDB will slot in at right back. Otherwise i'd stick with the same team.

He's preferred jones there last couple of games, not sure rvb is ready to start or play a significant number of minutes, otherwise you'd have thought he would have come on when Smith got injured?

Carrick said in his post match interview that it was a decision to try and get something from the game with an attacking sub over like for like.

Birmingham hadn't offered anything, so he risked it.

I don't think he'd be starting Jones at right back.

1-1 even if it's just to give MRe a rest from creating match day threads.

D&B most certainly... Irn Bru tastes like someone has left a bunch of pocket change in a bottle of lemonade.

Latte Lath for me, extra pace in behind away from home and he always looks bright when he comes on, big hand in our goal against Birmingham.

Head says 2-1 to Norwich, heart says 3-1 to us

Norwich seem to have had a mirror universe season compared to us.

First 6 games: W4, D1, L1 = 13 points

Last 6 games: W1, D1, L4 = 4 points.

Normally you would think in that case that a win for us is nailed on. Norwich fans certainly seem pretty scunnered at the moment. I suspect, though, that the balance is due to revert back to somewhere near normal.

Wagner doesn't seem to have had the impact at Norwich you might expect and their transfer window looks uninspiring. A lot of 30+ types on a free transfer looking for one last payday. Pretty much the polar opposite to ours. If these had been our transfers I would be pretty depressed.

Hard to know what direction Norwich are going but it looks like they have had a really bad run over the last 20-26 games. In fact, looking at their last 23 games (i.e. half a season) w6, drawn 6, lost 11 = 24 points. That's not far off relegation form.

I hadn't realised they have been doing so badly for so long. I had thought they were doing quite well but it seems that was just a short flurry of wins in the middle of a long run of mediocrity. It still feels like a classic set up for our current good run to run out of fuel but now I am feeling quite hopeful.
