No way would I be confident going into a season with Forss as our #1 RW without having a very very solid backup. When he's on the pitch he's very good and he's a big goal threat...but he's rarely on the pitch. Availability is the best ability. perfect for coming off the bench for doak tho , interesting to see who gets that role if no one is bought

It's not like he was causing any trouble so there was no real reason to ostracise him from the rest of the squad other than to try and push him out of the club. It's a credit to him that he didn't seem to take it personally, just got his head down and set about proving his worth.

Sounds like he could be heavily relied on there in the second half of the season considering Forss’s fitness issues. might of been to try an keep izzy in the eyes of others ready for the move / keep him happy for getting phazed out unexpectidly by the arrival of doak or more likely he just has more experience and needed his skill set more in the matches he was subbed on than hamilton. I think hamilton would of been brought on way more this season if we hadn't been so inconsistent, it would be perfect to bring him on for games when we are battering teams with a few goals to spare, and is typically how I think he would be brought into the team, but we haven't been putting games to bed, so they have seemed more suited to jones, espieally when we trying not to drop points when chasing or managing the game sounded like was more jones choice for him to leave than ours, I wouldn't be surprised if he has had conversations to show he is not happy and the club have said these bids are in, its upto you izzy, stay and you still part of things but if the time is right to move on we accept that.

If you listened to Scott's interview with BBC Tees in the summer he said they'll create a presentation for Carrick with several players and give him input as to who he favours. There's obviously a balance and it's equally as short-sighted to give a manager free reign.

I hope I'm right 😂 Sadly I think some frustration might creep in for a period but hopefully more game time will improve his overall performances. I imagine they come to terms on a settlement around when it had been leaked on here. But this may be his end date to allow him to find a new club on a free. I'd imagine there is something that hasn't come out in the wash about him, the lack of anything he has been given seems to reflect more some underlying issue why we haven't used him, rather than him not being good enough for the bench etc. Crap when wilder shat on him and forss from day one framing them as developmental players (try to force hands to buy more for him via his pressers) but don't think Leo or Carrick ever gave him a proper shot. Which makes me think he's done something, not settled (likely home sick or this for me) rather than buying him and seeing him in training thinking what have we bought here. Complete flop tho, but have to expect at least one transfer a season to no work out , not too bad given the amount of players we have brought in compared to the number of write offs. At least it's done with now Agree but it was the time it took to be honest

It's a credit to him that he didn't seem to take it personally, just got his head down and set about proving his worth. yeah normally happens when clubs have players on contracts they wish they never gave them in the first place, or wont take a new contract, so try play hard ball hoping to change their mind. usually when players are being paid more than any other clubs will pay them if they move on, so the clubs are often stuck with them for loans or until the contract runs out and they leave for nothing. in that boro breakdown interview tho before he left, chuba did confirm that he had loan options he wasn't taking that summer, so I can see why wilder would take that stance after that, as he said he had told them that they are not in the plans and to go and find themselves another club after he didn't take them up. brutal and ruthless and most the time ends in the club getting lowballed on a sale, but at that point we were getting low balled on a sale after loaning him out for so long anyways. there wasn't much to lose out on, and he had no plans for him I think chuba just understood it as business and never took it personally is daft tho but think the worst one in recent history was when we did that to downing, twice first when monk came in, which I think was just to try and sell him and get his massive championship wage off the books (which I think both club and manager wanted) but also to make a name for himself with the rest of the squad (that he wasn't going easy on anyone), but he looked stupid when he was playing not long after when he wouldn't budge and take a transfer elsewhere. then we did it again when he wouldn't let us buy out the appearance contract extension he was due if he kept playing under pullis, which I can understand as that contract extension was going to be very juicy for him, and you could see with that on the table why he probs told monk to jog on and keep paying him to do nothing if that is what they want. but for the second one its not as bad for me, I would of cut off his game time to avoid that contract, we were cutting costs, he was declining and made no sense to knowingly activate that deal, just glad they got it paid off in the end, but credit to him again standing his ground, I would as a player too.
