We have no control over his future. Lath we do. And my take on buy players cheapish to sell on? I fail to see how you ever develop and raise quality across the squad if your star assets are moved on. Shows a total lack of ambition - others will disagree of course! Brentford and Brighton have shown it works. It just takes time for it to take shape. It’s getting nigh on impossible for a non parachute payment club to get promoted. I get it’s frustrating but when the accounts are released I think it’s showing Gibson is doing all he can to get us there. He can’t really do much more in this climate.

Humpty 4,560 10.1k
I've said it before but losing ELL or Doak will end our hopes of promotion this season. it really is that simple. The way things are going anyway our chances don't look great regardless. Question is, will ELL have the same demand in the summer and if we tell him he's staying will he knuckle down? I don't think he'd kick off fpor an MLS team but if we get something concrete from a Premier League side again, i think his attitude could go south.

Maybe they possessed more quality throughout the rest of their teams? Quality is hardly a term to be associated with us - indeed it is at a premium! We accepted slightly less of a total fee to get more of it up front (possibly all of it but don’t quote me)

I can also see us if we sell Lath similar to what we did with Roger’s and bringing loans in so we can spend the money in the summer

The talk of 25m or 30m or he stays is deluded. the Gyokeres deal also has the asterisk of 12 months left on his deal. an extra year or 2 and they would have seen 30+ if they wanted

The stats are pretty similar championship wise, they sold in summer window and it was 2 years ago. 24 million euros is more than fair

And worried about the stampede of fans offering him a lift down South. You know what, I hate it tbh cos he's a really nice chap and model pro. Just not working out here, be that pressure or his style. Feel if he goes to a lower Champ (like Rotherham were) he'll shine. One thing I would give him credit for, he doesn't shirk away and hide
