scott on greenwood deal problems if leeds are promoted (as his wage would be much more to take on board than it would if leeds were not promoted and he did not get a payrise, if humpty signs it off on the phone first), basically that he would be able to command a wage in line with his premier league wage and if we are still in the championship that may not be something we can offer

If Leeds were to be promoted, we all know what comes with that (payrise), when teams get promoted players do better for themselves. I'm sure Sam is one of those and that is an issue that is there."

Sam Curtis is a really big prospect. Only 17 and a lot of League of Ireland games under his belt already. Features in the Irish U21 squad as well. Would be happy if we were in for him.

We should be all over Jhon Duràn from Villa if he is available.

I know Scott has said we don't want to block Coburns progress but Villa opted to sell Archer as they rate Duràn higher. He could realistically be the difference between a proper promotion push or not. If he could replicate or even better what Archer produced its a no brainer.

*Assuming his spat with Emery isn't a massive worry and he wouldn't distrupt the dressing room.

Tbh if we don’t go up I think Greenwood is going back to Leeds regardless what happens to them. If he has too good a season Prem clubs will probably come calling anyway.

If we do have an option to buy, then Greenwood is calling the shots isn’t he? He can go back to Leeds (presumably on whatever contract he is currently on), or choose to sign for us on whatever contract he can agree with us.

If Leeds go up, the question is whether he would get a chance for them next season - he wasn’t wanted this season by them and they will presumably spend as big as they can over the summer, so getting game time might be tricky. If Leeds don’t want him and want to sell him, then they can choose the fee they want and who they accept offers from.

On other hand, if I were his agent I would at least think about fact he could agree to sign for Boro, but only with a release clause in below his market value. That would mean if premier league clubs were interested, he gets to choose and with a lower fee, probably could get a big signing on payment. Would probably suit everyone except Leeds even if he transferred to us and then onward without playing for us next season - I presume there is no rule to stop that?

I think we do need another striker, even as cover. What happens if either Coburn or Latte Lath get injured ? If Carrick doesn't see Forss as a striker, even if he was fit, our only other option seems to be Crooks.  I think thats ok if we are chasing a game last 15 minutes or so, but not as a starter.

Yeah we definitely need another striker. Can’t finish the season with just two strikers.

Depending on what state Clarke is in, I’d like us to bring in either a CB or RB. All we’d need is for one of Fry, McNair, RVB or Dijk to get injured and we are really down to the bare bones at a crucial time of the season.

The GK situation is another interesting one, if we lose Dieng and Glover at the same time that leaves us with just Jones, is Paul Smith still up for another emergency loan haha?

Another striker would be a nice to have but seeings though we only play with one anyway I don’t think we need to go out of our way to cover off an injury. Unless it’s an opportunity too good to miss, I’d rather stick with Coburn and ELL with people like Crooks, Forss and Rodgers as back up.

The most logical solution has to be to recall one of the goalkeepers we have out on loan. Liam Roberts, Zach Flemming and Sol Brynn all have recall clauses in their loan  agreement. I haven't watched enough of Flemming or Brynn to know which of the three is the best option.

Brynn. I'd of had him second choice to Dieng personally. Certainly no worse than Glover

That or a half season loan for Steffen if he is fit and City is willing to give is a good discount and no one else comes in.
