It would make absolutely no sense as a move.

He was here and Carrick never used him.

Instead he was playing a bang average winger out of position for the majority of his loan move, despite him being poor defensively and limited going forwards.

Carrick pushed for Giles and then bombed him out anyway, why would we go back in for him?

Yeah I would be disappointed for us to bring him in, it’s time to move on, plus I think we can get the best out of our team if we flip the squad and play Whittaker in the McGree role on the right and have an attacking rb

I can’t actually believe we are going to stick with Carrick! Shows the complete lack of ambition within the club hierarchy. Happy to stick with a manager who has proven he can’t motivate a team, has no plan B, has woeful in game management and who has massively underachieved. There is not one other club in this league that would accept such mediocrity.

I want him gone but if we change the backroom staff to get him more proactive with his tactics and experience to help him through the tough times more I wouldn’t be against it

I wouldn't be surprised if it was lip service and nothing happened at all

I still can't believe it hasn't been confirmed either way yet. The uncertainty is pretty sh1tty on the fans.

I have a theory Watford sacking straight away made Gibson and co want us to look a more “competent” club and take our time with these things, so we don’t look reactive which isn’t a bad thing

Maybe, I will be disappointed if it drags on longer than next week.

I wanted him to succeed but honestly he has proven this season that he is completely inept. I mean we looked like a team that didn’t care. No fight, no want to win. Carrick just completely unable to motivate this team. Every big game that we’ve had since Carrick has been in charge, we’ve not turned up and got completely battered. Just get rid and move on.

Carrick is staying, at least Francis Benali thinks so. He was on commentary in the Bournemouth/Villa game on BBC Radio 5, I don't know if anyone noticed ?

Haha remember when I was with him in Kutis Brasserie Southampton and Rishy Sunak was a waiter in there, although obvs we didn't know he was going to be Prime Minister at that point 😲
