I'd keep Hackney over Azaz. The consistency Hackney brings is something that we take for granted I think.
Lose Azaz, and we can rejig the front line, try to find another Akpom type or a like-for-like replacement. Whereas Hackney is more of a lynchpin to how we want to play.

Seeing Crystal Palace are supposed to be interested as well you would have to consider selling if you can get an auction going. 

He does have limitations, if we can find a 10 with a bit of a physical presence like an Akpom  it could be the missing ingredient.

I'd love us to sign somebody with a bit of presence in the box for next season.

We've got a team that's totally devoid of any aerial quality, our only tall players are centre backs who couldn't score in a brothel.

Obviously I don't want us signing plodders just because they're tall or okay in the air, but it would be nice to be able to mix it up a bit.

It's easy to focus on the weaknesses of Azaz' game, but it's a reductive analysis of him. He needs to be looked at in the greater context of most #10s having the same weaknesses as him, and appreciate the things he can do he can do very well like picking up pockets of space, linking up play, can make half a yard for himself and has a good shot on him. Yeah he's lacks a bit of physicality and mobility, but so do most out and out #10s - even in the Premier League the #10s like Odegaard, Fernandes, Maddison, Eriksen, Ozil (retired now) etc who similarly lack a bit of pace and physicality. If they had their same #10 role attributes,  but also with pace and physicality they'd likely be played as an elite all round striker as they'd be the complete attacker who'd be near impossible to stop given they had every key attacking attribute. Every player has weaknesses that are fundamental to why they play their position, no more so than #10s lacking mobility and physicality. It's par for the course. Fans love nothing more than pointing and moaning at weaknesses though, so don't really appreciate that when analysing Azaz.

Azaz has unique quality that's at the very top end of the Championship so we need to be trying our hardest to keep him and build around him. To bring the best out of Azaz he needs to be surrounded with pace and mobility. When he had Doak and Lath to link up with last season we saw the best out of him so we need to replicate that if we're fortunate enough to hold onto him this summer.

I honestly would be on board with this if we also brought through some youth players as well

 

I'd suggest two Aussie players to play initally with  the under 21s, but who could  sit on the bench for the first team when required. 

 Max Caputo 19 year Centre forward from Melbourne City not afraid to get stuck in, very impressive in the second half of the season, Dylan Leonard 17 year old centre half from Western United still raw but looks a big talent.

Fans been crying out for years for a midfielder who scores and assists, we get one and they want him gone....you couldn't write it! 

Yes, he occasionally goes missing in big games but his numbers don't lie.

We should be getting pace around Azaz and play him in tge number 10 and he would flourish even more.

It's no coincidence that his form dropped slightly when we missed the pace of Doak

I think it’s fine for fans to want a player to be sold, you’ve said it there we lost Doak and azaz struggled, it’s fine to want us to sell a player who struggles a lot defensively to become a more adaptable team, Azaz can’t press which means we are a man down defensively and unless you have a Lath type striker you lose another in the press as they are normally isolated. Azaz is good but he’s also a luxury player

Absolutely this. Next season, Azaz ought to be the first name on our team sheet and we ought to be building around him and ensuring that we have a back-up who is 90% of his ability when needed. Or else we have an alternate set-up for when Azaz is not available. In two Championship seasons (people tend to forget last season was only his second at this level) he has started 79 games (91 apps), with 23 goals and 21 assists spread over two teams. You don't get better than that at this level and he still has loads of room to improve.

In two years he has missed just one game, through illness I think. He's creative, scores goals and has so far escaped the Crockcliffe curse. Not sure what else we could ask for.

Also if a team offers us 15+ for azaz would be mental to turn that down
