Its not even a ridiculous amount that we may not see again. He goes and i lose the little faith i had of us having a crack. No doubt we will try our hardest but in the end no signings as usual with Bugzorg leading the line as Conway is still a 'few weeks away' Have a look at our accounts, info released yesterday, then realise why we need to sell. It’s the model we have. Look at Brentford

Still not enough to *** our season over for me, but it would be our record sale and would be a major profit on him. It would come down to ELL, I reckon. If he knocks on the door and says, sorry but I really want this move then it'll be very hard to persuade him to stay. I reckon we could try and get Premier league interest and spark an auction if we suggest that he waits a few days. In the meantime we presumably have our post-ELL planning in hand. I'm sure we would keep him if he said he was happy to wait until the summer but that doesn't look like it's going to happen.

A21 148 120
Probably not a popular opinion but the Latte Lath move for £18m is a no brainer for all involved for me, based on how the 1st half of the season has gone. The club get a good return on the player, who in turn gets a significant pay rise. If we had 10 more points and were in a genuine fight for the automatic spots I think both club and player have a long hard think about what can be achieved. As it stands, it makes sense as a business to accept the bid, reinvest, rinse and repeat.

If this isn't the case £20 million was offered. So what we are saying is a striker with a recognised goal scoring record is now a devalued asset? What complete and utter nonsense. The difference here is timing. The summer bids were on the last day of window. We had no way of spending the money. £18m would let us strengthen any position we wanted to now. Which might make all the difference.
BoroSmoggie 4,871 4.7k
Does it matter to us if LL is offered 10kp/w or 100kp/w? That doesn’t really affect us does it? We only care about the transfer fee. Atalanta are the first official bidders. Surely the sensible thing would be to wait for the inevitable bids from premier league clubs and get a bidding war going. The most basic negotiation is you don’t accept the first offer.
edinboro 1,832 2.6k
I wonder whether Gibson lets Scott spend the money now on the assumption that Lath goes for £18-£20m? So we don't get ripped off.

But nobody knows if Leeds actually offered that. Maybe it was 20. Maybe some stupid add ons. And yes I think his value has probably decreased a bit. He’s turned 26 and at this point the only way his value goes up is if we are promoted and he fires goals in in the Prem.
TLF10 5,418 7.1k
The MLS offer is not a bad opening offer but not one I would accept just yet. £18.5m rising to £20m. Club will only accept that if they are clear Ipswich and WHU wont be entering the race. But all signs point to the fact they will. Hoping we can get an overall package of £25m for LL with £20m a minimum guaranteed. We will then have banked a tidy £30m for him and Jones. @MarkT73. Has this journalist Baz Cooper confirmed we have bid £2m for Giles? I know he said we were interested but is it now we made an official bid?

Complete and utter tosh.26? In the prime of his career. And another point Jan is allegedly a hard time to do biz. So as a selling club we hold the cards. 25 million or no deal. Frankly we need to show a steely side not a soft one......

Apparently he was at fault for Donnie's first, then the crowd turned on him, and he lost the plot a bit. Subbed off 5 mins later Strangely enough, I’ve just seen a BBC reporter say he’s been banned from covering Hull this afternoon. Seems like it might have been an odd atmosphere. Wonder if it had anything to do with that.
