Provided another forward also comes in, Bamford on an incentive based contract is almost totally risk free, I don't see why anyone would be mad at it. It's an easy excuse to not get another forward in. I think we should be targeting better rather than helping Paddy out. I don't think he would offer us enough

Ravs been done 10 times according to you. I am 100 percent confident if Bamford is offering his services he isn't only offering them to Boro and Boro only. I’ve said I’m very confident in this particular piece of info - you are determined it’s wrong and I’m defending my position. Why is that arrogant? I’ve said Rav is done once and stuck by it. If he’s still here Sept 1st I’ll hold my hands up.
Weasel 1,159 1.7k
I must be in the minority as someone who'd be happy to have Bamford back. I've got fond memories of his time here and I've always liked him even after leaving. I get the feeling we've never got the full story about his leaving and I don't know why some of our fans hate him so much. Yeah his injury record is a concern but if he's pushing for the move and actually wants to come back and is motivated for footballing reasons then what's not to love? We know how good he can be in this division when he's fit.

Nobby Barnes 1,388 2.2k
Talking about Ayling, he is shortly opening his football academy in Knaresborough. I guess that's kinda Breaking News I have applied to be involved but haven't heard anything yet...
mendieta420 1,397 2.7k
Could do much worse than Bamford but I suspect it's a no-go

I remember him getting good info on McGree a few years ago when local journos were saying the deal was dead. If he says he’s never been as confident in anything he’s posted, I’d be inclined to believe him. Read it again, I've never once said he was wrong on Bamford. I said I hope he is wrong. Cos I do. I even acknowledged how confident he was has made me believe it. The only thing I did say is if he's offered his services to Boro then I reckon he will be doing it to other clubs also. Maybe we are his preferred option.
DevKWat 3,426 3.4k
Only problem with Bamford is the injuries, and yes it’s a significant problem. But i’ve no doubt the ability is still there. If @CrazyL is right and he only wants to come and play for us with a contract like that it says a lot about him (could easily go to a Wrexham and make a fortune). I can think of many worse alternatives. I can see us signing Bamford and buying another attacker who can either play ST or wide forward. Effectively making Bamford 3rd choice ST. I’m on board 👍🏼
Mfcdanny 1,221 1.2k
Anyone else think he won’t be coming in to be third choice? I personally wouldn’t sign him at all but why on earth would he sign for a team as third choice on an incentive based contract.
Obii 880 984
I mean if you're paying a really low wage and its just performance based then we aren't really missing out on anything but it should be as well as. not we have bamford now we dont need to buy another striker he's extremely unreliable injury wise. JTG 4,791 4.4k
As others have said, I wouldn’t be enamoured with us going down this route, but on favourable terms it could be better value than Ings.

He’ll get paid for coming on as sub and goal contributions will be incentivised. Must admit I’ll be surprised because as I said before I’m sure a Wrexham would pay him a fortune guaranteed.
