Disagree. One of the better goal scorers in the league and I think he guarantees us 15+ if he stays fit. He’s easily a top 6 striker.

I do think he will score a good amount this season. I guess we will have to see how the play style develops.

I apologise for my recent lack of contributions and enthusiasm of late but I was somewhat under a cloud of uncertainty. At my age the NHS invites you to do all sorts of things and one was to take

They weren't getting rotated for fitness reasons.  They got rotated for form.  If you have a good first choice striker then you don't rotate them unless you absolutely have to.

He still did well though, in Edwards system he won’t be able to play every game due to injury risk but from last season he had a good record

Decent goal scorer but not a good striker to play up front by himself.  He may well get 15+ if he stays fit but we'll still end up somewhere around 60 points though.

Agree but he also shouldn’t be the lone striker. Maybe if we get a bigger presence in we play more 3412, just with the main cf staying central and the other 2 moving around him

Don't get me wrong, I do rate Conway and I think he'll score goals in this team, I just think its useful to have someone with different attributes that can offer a different look.

He was the top scorer of any new signing last season, a specific stat but he did well considering he had an injury and Lath was first choice

Averaged a goal exactly every 2 games for us last season. Not bad when you’re being supplied by Burgzorg and Iheanacho for half of it. I’d go as far as saying we are lucky to have a striker of his quality at the club considering where we are at the moment.

Yeah agreed, we got him at a good price as well due to Bristol city wanting rid so I think he’s good championship quality and still young

Of course it won't cos he's a bit of a coward I reckon.  Nice and easy to hide behind a manager and Head of Football.

Agree!

I meant specific to football mate.  I thought I'd seen somewhere that you couldn't actually have purely incentive based contracts.  Could be an FA thing or I'm completely getting it wrong.

Yeah there has to be a salaried value to the contract. But no idea if there are rules about if there is a FA imposed  minimum limit or if they just take National Minimum wage as the "floor".

Quite surprised Bournemouth don’t try and pick up Rav - they’ve sold all their defence and do have a habit of picking up highly promising youngsters b4 selling them on for massive profit.

If you’ve got a striker that’s getting 15+ a season, personally I find it hard to put the blame on them for finishing on x amount of points. The reason for that would be elsewhere on the pitch, maybe defensively, or maybe other attacking players not contributing enough.

I agree, but he’s absolutely good enough to be first choice for us. There’s only a couple of teams in the league where he wouldn’t be first choice.

No he didn't do well.  You see this is where I think people are getting it wrong.  They are looking at his goal totals rather than looking at his and our performances that came with them.  He scored some goals, those goals didn't lead to us winning much.  Now I'm guessing everyone will point to the defence as the reason for that but it was also because the attack didn't function properly with him leading the line.  It didn't function at all on Saturday but people are placing the blame for that on Whittaker and Burzorg.  Conway is a player who offers next to nothing when you have the ball.  He works hard enough without the ball but with the ball you just don't get that much from him, and that in turn makes the whole team less than it should be.  I think he'd make a fine player in a two where he wouldn't have to do as much but as a one he just seems to be lacking the general/overall game.  He's someone that could tap in 15 a season for you just like the goals he got in the friendly against Deportivo.  But the rest of that game he offered nothing, and partly because of that our attack stutters.  He can't hold the ball up, he can't really run in behind, he isn't skillful so that he gets on the ball and drive forward with it, and he doesn't really drop deep and link play.  He's a hard working finisher, and I really don't see how this team is going to be good enough to carry that and end up with 70+ points.

I also agree with this as main striker. I like his work ethics and hes a decent 1 in 3 striker but I think we need alot better as we seen last season he goes missing in games . He literally offered nothing on Saturday and we have seen that too many times.

Latte lath created chances for himself and others
