We had 12 games between 16th September and 25th November where we were only beaten once. Most of our defeats came at the start of the season and we've only started losing on a regular basis again with 10 or 11 first teamers out injured and in an exceptionally difficult run of fixtures. I'd say we're not overly easy to beat with all things even.

You cant just pick & choose bits of the season ike that🤣  The start of the season was a disaster but apparantly that  wasnt important at the time👀

As regards the injuries, its been incredibly difficult but  under previous managers like Warnock, that was no excuse😬

Its all important at the end of it of course. But i do think theres mitigating circumstances for both our poor runs (start of the season, too many new signings, trying too hard to fit them all in at once, this current run were riddled with injuries and have been playing top championship sides). I think the middle of those two are more reflective of how good we CAN be as a team.

I don't remember us having many injuries under warnock. Certainly never our best defender, best right back, best midfielder (arguably best 2 midfielders, best creative player, a winger who scored double digits and preferred striker all at once. Plus the niggly injuries and suspensions from fry, engel, Jones, dijksteel. I can't remember an injury crisis like it at the club tbh.

And yet we beat 3 of the top 6 out of the 5 games we've played against them... amazing that if its so easy to beat us, they must have terrible managers

Not much of an argument when you consider the teams we've lost to.

If Boro were that good we wouldn't be losing to "lesser" teams we should be beating, if we are so good against the top teams.

Those victories are looking more and more like aberrations as the season goes on.

Also, if you think Boro have anything approaching a sound defence...which is what my previous comment was referring to...you really need your head checked.

You Said you don't need to do any homework to beat boro, very clearly wrong.

Need to change up the team.

Crooks and Greenwood both absolute garbage at the moment, got to drop at least one and give us any sort of threat other than Jones. ELL is starving for chances with those 2 behind him.

Can't see Carrick actually doing it though. He's picked his first team from what we have fit.

Normally I get a buzz when it is match day however that feeling has deserted me and I am rather "meh" about todays encounter.

Need to get through this without further injuries, doubt anyone will be back and let's be honest they will not be match fit.

I wonder how much importance is being placed on the up and coming QF game against Port Vale tbh in terms of keeping players back from todays game?

3-1 loss I reckon. We will gift them at least one goal due to a personal mistake and one from general sloppy defending. We’re just in a bad place currently and it won’t change until we get some players back and sign some in January. The festive period is going to be rough.

Really looking forward to today. Mainly as it's my works Christmas party. So apologies in advance for any 'interesting' posts later tonight...

Team lineup/Score prediction

We've got

-----------------------HR------------------------

QA---Production--Goods out---QC

----RA---Customer services---Supply chain---Management---

------------------Sales---R&D-------------------

HR will be trying to stop any own goals. We've got dependable Production and Goods out at the back. Unfortunately HR have banned tight man marking, so we'll be sticking to zonal today.

Customer service providing the support through the middle.

Management on the left wing. Look flashy, but don't really do anything. Don't track back to help out their full backs.

Then we have the mavericks of sales and R&D up front. Complete wildcards. No one knows what they'll do

Health and safety on the bench for this one. They're unlikely to get a look in today.

Well be drinking in a 442 formation.

I probably won't score 😕

Will Carrick make a sub before the 60th minute?

No, but I'll have made it to a pub by the 60th minute.

Are you going to Swansea?

No. Why would I have my works Christmas party in Swansea?!
