Rotherham United v Middlesbrough

Aesseal New York Stadium

Tuesday 26th December

KO: 15:00

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Feliz Navidad,  Joyeux Noël, Buon Natale, and of course Glædelig Jul and Nollaig Shona!

After absolutely battering a somewhat out of sorts WBA 1-0, our heroic lads travel to Rotherham on Boxing Day, a fixture that is traditionally not kind to us.

Also we lost at Rotherham last season after thinking we had the playoffs sewn up. The circumstances are very different this time around, with Boro just outside the playoff places and Rotherham rock bottom, having not won a game since the end of October.

The Millers aren't by any means pushovers though, having managed to draw with high flying Leeds United and Ipswich this season.

Riley McGree made his long awaited return from injury as a sub against WBA and will be likely to start. Josh Coburn also came off the bench, boosting Boro's striking options. Tom Glover had a decent afternoon between the sticks and will probably keep his place there.

Questions:

Will the D.Z matchday run continue?

Predicted lineup?

What will you be drinking during this game?

What are your Boxing Day traditions?

This fixture scares me. Rotherham have lost all 3 games under Leam Richardson so far but they are due a win and I have a horrible feeling it might come here. I will take any sort of win as its not our most happiest ground in recent times.

I would look to freshen up/make small changes so people are being managed.

Dieng

Dijk Fry Clarke Engels

Howson Barlaser

Jones Rogers Greenwood

Crooks

Hopefully LL and maybe Hackney can return to the bench because if they do and we also have likes of Silveria, McGree and Coburn we will look much better for it.

Contender of the lowest post count for a MDT this season?

It's Christmas Day! If you're not at work (unlike me!) then you have no reason to be on oneBoro...sorry Al!

I'd stick with the same team unless there are significant injury recoveries. They deserve to be rewarded rather than be switched out, for me players should be in on merit.

Not 100% certain about red button but at leat available through Boro Live £10.00 match pass which is worth it

Also applies to the Friday night game against Huddersfield good oh!

Sure RB will be available for both games but good to know anyway

Als applies to overseas where EFL broadcating rights are applicable to which ever country

This is the kind that if the team wants promotion, they need to avoid the "trap game" after a big win and go get 3 points.

Well it's finally sunk in. We have a club a team the town can afford. I am not being disrespectful by any means it's finally dawned on me not to expect anything more then championship mid table and anything more is a bonus. Its just another season of hope and a playoff at best but this season its preaty much a fight to get a win and three points. It's not fancy football its a battle for points. Who knows how the season may pan out but it's not relegation for sure.

We're three points off the playoffs mate

This game is actually live on TV in Denmark. I’ll be looking forward to it. Hope we can get the third win on the spin. Think we will see one or two changes here with Bangura and McGree coming in. It’s two positions where we actually have some depth and games are coming quick these days.

I can see Clarke, Bangura and Crooks coming in for VDB, Engel and Silveria. Crooks as the CF.

Think McGree might start v Coventry a week today and come off the bench for next 2 games, He got 15 mins v WBA so hopefully can add to that over next few games.
