For one he should have hooked Greenwood at half time and Silvera far earlier in the second half. It doesn't take a Striker to hit a target, he has 9 Players on the bench, why put Kav on with just seconds left, is he less accurate than Greenwood or Silvera when shooting? Greenwood's finishing and choices in possession has been poor for a while now.

We were totally dominant except we didn't have a player who can be composed when shooting. I have no idea if Kav would have made a difference but I knew from watching what was going on that we were awful in the opposition box. Trying something different when the same old, same old just wasn't working is what frustrates me with him. Against a side like Rotherham throwing Kav on with at least 30 minutes wouldn't have exactly weakened our side.

As you say, you have no idea if Kav would make a difference, or even, I imagine, if he's ready for the Championship.

I'd guess Carrick et al do know and that's why he wasn't on after 60 minutes.

His selections, his lack of a half time rollicking, his lack of substitutions, his lack of a Plan B.

He's the Coach it's up to him. If those chances were put away and we were awarded the penalty and won 5-0 would that have been down to him or just Carrick being lucky? It cuts both ways.

Didn't realise you were in the changing room. I'll defer to your inside knowledge.

I blame the fella who put the tenner on Rotherham to win. it only works against good teams. Chancing it against a struggler is just begging for it to backfire and we all knew this was a banana skin waiting to happen. Maybe I am out of line, but when you are playing a physical team, field physical players not lightweights. Some changes required for Huddersfield as they will use exactly the same tactics and unless we use our heads, will get the same result. We need the result now to keep us in touch and just hope for a decent result against Coventry. The next two weeks can make or break the season..

Give ur head a shake why did we need a ‘plan B’ when plan A was working fine? How do you know what he said at half time? I swear he made about 5 subs lol.

Some of the reactions to this result on here and on bbc tees are pure embarrassing 😬😬

I think its one of those things you have to earn the right to do...or else forge an intimidating reputation. Neither of which Carrick has done yet.

Its one thing to have a go at officials when you're a world-class manager who's won lots of trophies and are managing at a big club.

If Carrick did it it would be like one of those annoying lap-dogs yapping at you from someone's handbag. All he'd get for his troubles is a fine and a reprimand.

I don't recall Mourinho, Fergie etc. start doing it after their Trophy haul, they were doing it as they built their careers. Fergie wasn't a shy retiring type when he was at Aberdeen.

You must have seen the response that I didn't then?

The opening 20 minutes after half time were dire in case you hadn't noticed, just have a read of the comments on here at the time.

Typical game of football when it's not your day in front of goal. If you don't take your chances you are gonna get sucker punched.

But seriously we need VAR in this division. Just because they messing up in the Premier league doesn't mean we can't have it. As that ref didn't have the bottle to make the key decision today and give the pen that severely impacted the game. If we got that penalty we would of most likely gone onto win and been joint 6th in the league tonight.

On performance though Rogers Silvera and Greenwood were all not at the races today. Greenwood is such a frustrating player why can't he just gentle pass balls into the net when he gets tapins you don't have to smash the ball into the net in them situations. He missed at the weekend and missed again today by going for power over accuracy.

Then onto Carrick the big flaw to his management is the time it takes for him to make subs. Like why he take until 90th minute to bring Crooks on should of happened alot sooner. The time taken to bring Coburn and Mcgree he has to be more decisive give players chance to have an impact of the bench.

Just now, Neverbefore said:

On the evidence of what he did when he came on, the issue with the crooks sub isn't that it came too late, its that it happened at all. He was very very bad in those 7 or 8 mins.

so your saying carrick shouldnt have tried to change things by bringing him on at all. cant believe you of all people are being negative haha

Anyone who thinks Gibson is going to spend in January is deluded.....

We have the best manager in the league imo and Gibson didn't back him in the summer , even though we had various opportunities so he's not going to do it now when transfer prices are inflated in the window.

Today is highly frustrating but what do you expect when you sign league 1 players like Greenwood , Silvera, Gilbert and have Crooks and Coburn in attack.

Said it from start of season, without Carrick at the helm this squad would be towards the bottom 6 rather than 3points from the  play offs .

That was also back in the 1980s when you could get away with that kind of thing. Maybe officials in Scotland were a lot more thick-skinned back then and gave as good as they got?

As for The Special One - god only knows. Portuguese and Spaniards have that hot Latin temperament. But he still got in trouble when he tried it over here. Particularly when he was at Chelsea and had a go at the club doctor for treating an injured player at an inconvenient point in a match.

I'm just pointing out Carrick is in a very different situation. Not saying he shouldn't lodge formal complaints against crap officials, but it wouldn't do any good for him to start ranting at them from the touchline.

I expect a big janaury and 3 or 4 key signings. Scott was on radio tees a few weeks back saying we are ready to bring players in
