Pleased for Neymarv doing well for Wednesday after being left out of the squad by the previous manager

And Wednesday beating Hull again shows how nuts this league is. I’m gutted about today but we are still within striking distance because all the teams around us are in the same sort of form.

Crazy division, its so tight & competative, to think 11 defeats, goals leaked for fun, minus GD, 12 playets missing & still touching distance of the playoffs

Im too gutted about today but the first half shoeed me the bigger picture

I think being able to play like that in the first half encouraged me a lot too. As Carrick said, we ran out of steam, and I think that’s a totally valid excuse given the circumstances.

Im worried that we have so many games coming up including Villa and Chelsea that it could feasibly get even worse on the injury front, but I’m happy that in spite of that we are still being competitive. We need players back desperately

What a bummer of a second half. We completely ran out of steam after a dominant first half. We then get suckered punched and don't have a clue how to come back from it.

I guess all we can hope is that we keep treading water near the playoffs until we get more players signed or back from injury/tournaments.

I thought we were already looking leggy before half time to be honest.  Second half was similar to the Huddersfield game in that we just seemed unable to get going at all only Coventry are a better side than Huddersfield so they made us pay, albeit with more than a little help from ourselves.

Other clubs manage to do it..

Over the last four games no team has a 100% record, and only 7 teams have a better record than we do.  So a few clubs manage it, most didn't, and almost all don't have the same number of players missing as we do.  Not only missing but in several cases missing for a long period of time, which means we've been unable to rest certain players at all.

barlaser is absolute donkey, honestly i blame him for that start to the second half. his dilly dally crap early second half set the tone. we need to get shot of him asap. his body language is terrible to. he gave up, like playing with 9 men second half with him and greenwood. never seen a boro team give up against lesser opposition like that before. we were a better side than them until we gave up. spineless wimps.

I really don't think that we gave up.

Not even angry. After watching that I’m just disappointed, battered them first half and just capitulated second half. Our defence is a shambles under pressure, I stand by what I say about jones he’s not a good footballer. Fastest player on the pitch and just jogs about. Morgan rogers was the best by a mile, really good. Greenwood was non existent. Glover really good saves and did nothing wrong. Listening to maddo ( the yes man) saying if we had our strongest side we would have struggled against them is the stupidest thing I’ve heard. Full strength they would of been gone by first half

Makes more tackles than any other player in our team, scored more this season than almost all of them, sets up more chances than most of them, just by jogging around.  Set up our goal today, and had one cleared off the line, just by jogging around.  Same *** Tavernier used to get though to be fair.  Four key passes today, and of course the assist and the chance off the line as well, more than Rogers and anyone else as it happens, barely lost the ball unlike Rogers, 20% better passing accuracy than Rogers but Rogers is brilliant and Jones isn't a good footballer and just jogs around.

We didn't. A good manager with a virtually full squad of players was able to make tweaks and changes that were not possible to counter with the resources at our disposal. He realised that if he could stifle our attacking links and pressure the full backs, they would turn the game and our unwillingness to treat Sakamoto the way they treated Rogers and Jones highlighted our lack of cynicism. I don't mean that we should go out to "play dirty" but one of the main weaknesses we have is that no one could be remotely described as an "enforcer" and virtually every really good team has somebody that can fill that role.

  • Downsouth changed the title to BORO v Coventry City 1-3 (Coburn)

We did create a host of chances and as Robbins said we could have been out of sight by half time. Unfortunately we have some of the most wasteful players in front of goal. It's a recurring theme of our play. We desperately need a decent STRIKER who can convert some of these chances.I think we will bring one in this month.
