Metalingus, is that the one that goes "I've been defeated and knocked down" or something like that?

The lyrics are in the YouTube video I posted (on the first page of this thread). Its basically a song about overcoming adversity, which I guess most clubs could relate to, but seems very apt for Boro.

If you follow wrestling at all, its also the song Adam Copeland (a.k.a Edge) comes out to.

Reading that I think Boro have made enough to cover travelling expenses all of those away ties to lower league clubs did not make Boro much at all

Let's hope he takes a shot when given the chance!

Remember it is now frowned upon to sing "Your just a town full of .... boys!"

I think we're now supposed to sing, "You're just a town full of Z-list reality TV nobodies!"

Doesn't scan very well...needs some work I think.

Andy Nesbit Wilson who played for the Boro before & the 1st world war

His first stint came in season 1914/15 when he scored 5 goals in 9 appearance, then joining up to fight in WW1. During the conflict he had his right arm badly injured & returned home invalid, where he pottered around playing for a couple of teams in Scotland, the Boro who still held his registration called him back to Ayresome Park were he resumed his second stint at the club, scoring scoring 52 goals in 81, another prolific goalscorer on our books, other teams were taking notice of his strike rate & noticeably Chelsea. On the 17th November 1923 he scored his final goal, against Chelsea in a 2-0 home win, 7 days later, 24th November 1923 he played his final Boro game, which ironically was away to Chelsea, with the mighty Boro losing 2-0 & the following day signed for the Londoners
At the end of the season both Boro & Chelsea were relegated from the first division (our 1st ever relegation) & Andy Nesbit Wilson was still top scorer of both clubs

3/10/1960 - Gordon Jones was our first league cup debutant when he made his appearance in our first ever league cup tie in a 4-3 home defeat to Cardiff City

13/9/1961 - Alan Peacock scored our first league cup hat trick in a 6-2 win at Tranmere
