TLF10 4,928 6.6k
I think team selection for this might be influenced a little by what happens between Birmingham v Hull in fa cup replay tomorrow. If Birmingham win our game v them is obviously postponed that is scheduled for 27th Jan. So it no longer becomes a 3 game week and some players might start both games who otherwise might not have such as Clarke. I expect Ayling, Azaz and Greenwood to start regardless v Rotherham.
AnglianRed 6,500 15.8k
Quote The AI Match Preview I asked ChatGPT to write me a preview for the game. This is what it gave me: “With both teams eyeing vital points for different reasons, this clash between Middlesbrough and Rotherham promises to be a spectacle of footballing prowess. Fans can expect end-to-end action, moments of brilliance, and perhaps a late twist that could define the destiny of the match. Strap in for an exhilarating encounter as these two teams battle it out for supremacy on the pitch.” Well I don't think we need to worry about AI taking over the world just yet... Talking Points - Which (if any) players will be rested with the Chelsea game on the Tuesday in mind? I don't see Carrick resting anyone unless they really need it. I reckon he'll pick the strongest team possible. We need to avenge the 0-1 battering we gave them in the reverse fixture and I think 3 points are more important to stay in touch with the play-offs. The chances of us beating Chelsea at The Bridge are remote, so if anything I think he'd rather shake things up a bit for that game. - Will the game be a spectacle of footballing prowess? Maybe just little bits of prowess here and there... - Would you rather Carrick left to go to Crystal palace OR you have to listen to Barry Manilow’s Copacabana for 24 hours straight? I think I'd rather start supporting Sunderland... - What is your favourite ham?
Redcar Rioja 6,776 6.6k
Which (if any) players will be rested with the Chelsea game on the Tuesday in mind? I'd prefer us to secure three points against Rotherham and then think about who to take off and rest. Arrogant complacency can have a habit of biting us on the backside. Even now I think there is more chance of us making the Play Offs than winning the Cup let alone getting to the Final. Will the game be a spectacle of footballing prowess? I'd doubt it very much, Rotherham will try and frustrate us trying to get something from set pieces. We on the other hand will either pass it into oblivion or turn it on, I hope the latter but fear the former. Would you rather Carrick left to go to Crystal palace OR you have to listen to Barry Mannilow’s Copacabana for 24 hours straight? Think I'd rather Carrick went to Palace! What is your favourite ham? Miss Piggy but apparently that can raise concerns so I don't mention it in public.

MarkT73 542 606
Fast start with best 11, get in to them a bit like Millwall did Saturday.. Get a 2 goal cushion then start subbing asap with eye on Tuesday. 3 points more important (first) but if bagged, start the prep...
Smogzilla 8,543 6.6k
They're going to put 11 men behind the ball again lads. I'm sure it's going to be tough sledding trying to pry them open, same as the last game a few weeks back.

Norman_Conquest 33 42
The NYS is a compact stadium with a small pitch which makes it easier for the Rotherham players to close down space and this is what happened at their place. At the Riverside, I expect our players to be able to play their flowing football style and find space on the slightly bigger playing surface. An early goal is key in this game which will make them come out and play football and if that happens we will batter them. We are also going into the game with players returning from injury and the addition of Ayling and Azaz. Ayling should give us a better balance at the back and Azaz vision should be be able to pick out that killer pass. Playing these two also allows us to rest players who will be playing against Chelsea. I can see us winning by two clear goals. 😜

I don't think it was a fluke, I believe it was because of his vision and being able to chip in with a few goals that we bought him. 👍
