What glasses do you wear. We were slow lacked finishing and you blame a ref. The fact being we didn’t help ourselves, we didn’t earn the right to be winners.
I get it refs are not perfect never have been since I was at school over 50 years ago and never will be in another 50 years.
I’ll say it again, we did not deserve a win, we did not earn a win, period. Stop blaming the ref.

If we earned multiple penalties that weren't given then yes, we did earn the right to be winners even though we did play badly. Again, nobody is disputing that we played badly. Playing badly and earning a win are not mutually exclusive, no matter how cynical about our performance you are currently feeling.

  • Rotherham at home is the only Boro match my wife has ever been to Back in Nov 2015 my younger brother passed away, he was a massive Boro fan, as big as anyone I would say A week later the 1s

Need to get the job done on Saturday then think about subbing people. We can lose on Tuesday and still be proud of what we have done - we might lose on Saturday and really regret it at the seasons end

  • They were Crooks last time out as they stole a win but Boro will go full Forss on an Ayling Rotherham side who will need the help of an Engel to get something here, 5-0 to the Boro.

Without putting in a top performance I think we still had chances to have won, Rotherham, on the otherhand, had to battle as best they could with what they have to gain anysort of advantage, as long as its in the rules of the game, thats how it should be, we've done the same in the past

10 men behind the ball is fine, sportsmanship is fine, over the top of been physical is not, downrigt cheating, pushing players, both not

The ref was poor that he didnt clamp down on the 1st Rotherham player who physically pushed Rogers (I think) over for basically winning the ball back, then 10 minutes later the carthorse Hughill just shoved Jones in the back for no apparent reason, yet no booking for the Boro thug, with Jones missing the Chelsea game, the biggest game of his career

There are times you need luck when skill, or the better team isnt enough, even in regards was in a penalty or not, thats part of football, some you get, some you dont

I just think when the ref needed to be strong & just do his job he failed badly

The fact is they where not penalty’s by virtue they were not awarded. What ifs don’t count.

I honestly don’t understand why people can’t accept the fact we didn’t play well enough to win. In my life traveling around the country supporting the club I’ve witnessed some dreadful almost criminal decisions. To blame the ref the other night for not winning is frankly absurd. what ifs don’t get you points. See it for what it is after all the stats prove we are inconsistent. That includes the manager down to the players.
It’s not the end of the world it’s fixable.

But it was down to refereeing decisions.

We didnt play our best but at the end of the day we did enough to win and refereeing decisions cost us 2 points.

We conceded one goal and scored two perfectly good goals - but only one was given. If the refs don't make that mistake we win the game.

Greenwood was through on goal in the box when he was taken down. If Greenwood isnt taken down or the refs give that, chances are we score we win the game.

Forss was heading away from goal but won the ball before being clattered by their keeper. On another day that's a pen.

Their goal was offside. If the refs call that correctly, they score 0 and then we win the game.

With VAR that game could have been 4-0 (I know the game wouldnt play out the same way and it doesnt work like that but you know what I mean).

Then you have issues like Hugill going unpunished for injuring Jones, which affected our gameplan massively.

It wasn't our best performance of the season but to say "we didnt do enough to win" and "you cant blame the ref" when we literally scored more legitimate goals than them and the refs called 2 of them wrong is laughable

This is just daft, frankly. By the letter of the law they should have been penalties. It's not the players' fault they weren't, and it's not Carrick's fault they weren't, and it's not the club's fault they weren't. It's the referee's fault. If the referee had done his job properly, we would have easily won the game. What part of that is difficult to accept?
