Boro v Rotherham 1-1(Forss)

Recommended Posts

15/1/1955 Boro 5 Rotherham United 1 – The first fixture on Teesside between both teams.
Rotherham, who have a decent record v Boro on Teesside will be the 22nd home fixture between both teams, with the following record

Won - 8
Drew - 8
Lost - 5
For - 36
Against - 23

No hat tricks, only the one 4 goal haul v Rotherham

30/08/1961 - Alan Peacock scored 4 goals when we beat Rotherham 5-1 at Ayresome Park

Home debuts/last game v Rotherham

17/9/1958 - Ernest Walley made his final appearance before moving to Crystal Palace in May 1960 – lost 2-1

9/9/1963 - Harold Kirk made his debut after moving from Ardeer Recreation in May – drew 2-2

12/03/1983 - Ray Hankin started his final Boro game at home to Rotherham in a 1-1 draw, Paul Sugrue scoring our goal, RH played one more, wearing No12, then he was gone

We had an awful record v Chelsea & put that to bed, we have a poor record at home to Rotherham, no home wins since 2015, our last 3 home fixtures to Rotherham are 2 nil nil draws & a 3-0 home defeat, lets put this to bed too

C'mon Boro!

Really looking forward to this game, starting the day off in the best possible way, a family breakfast/brunch in Baker street kitchens for my sons 27th birthday, then hopefully to dundas arcade to pop in & visit my mates Boro shop then off to the Riverside with a home win that COULD see us in the final playoff spot at the end of the day

we shouldnt rest players or wrap them in cotton wool as such. if they are fit play them. i recall back in the euro years. we rested our best players before the sevilla final. look how that worked out. waste of time. if anything it only disrupted the teams rhythm.

dont even have to look that far back, just go last season when we come up vs luton and rotherham (DZ fault on rotherham mind lol) did the same, akpom never scored again, although lets be fair he did get injured when he come back, but we took a step off the gas, probs forced by injuries etc and wanting to concentrate on the play offs but never had any momentum no more.

im sure tho some will be rested, just have to look at the millwall line up to see he is giving some key players time off where he can, feels ages since we had one game in a week tho so thats a good thing with our fitness levels

Rotherham at home is the only Boro match my wife has ever been to

Back in Nov 2015 my younger brother passed away, he was a massive Boro fan, as big as anyone I would say

A week later the 1st Boro game after his passing we played Rotherham on a tuesday night, I said as a family we should all attend the game together in his memory, wiith my dad, a ST holder, my son, daughter, son in law & sister in law all attended the game which Boro won 1-0, our last home win v Rotherham

True - but easier said than done. I'd be surprised if the players didn't at least have the Chelsea game in the back of their minds. Just human nature.

Totally agree. Don't get me wrong. For sure it will be. As it will be for all of us. :classic_biggrin: Think I'm just trying to convince myself. :classic_wacko:
