Chelsea vs Middlesbrough (League Cup Semi Final - 2nd Leg) 6-1 (Rogers)

Not to sure who the Liverpool player is who can overtake Rogers as this seasons league cup top scorer, but he's done so well in his debut season to have, fingers crossed, win the honour of the top scorer

Shame he didnt score v Huddersfield in the 1st round

Though he's created a record that will take some beating at the Boro, scoring in every round up to the semi final

It's sort of been a stop start season for Michael Carrick, last season when he took over from the previous boss he inherited a team in the bottom 3 & ended up losing finalists in the playoffs, playing some fantastic football & scoring goals for fun along the way

Started off this season with project players as our new model at the Boro then before we knew it, the 1st long term injury kicks in, then another & another & so on, to the point we faced at Chelsea

I can't see Michael Carrick not been here next season when hopefully, fingers crossed, he stays clear of black cats & our injury record is a thing of the past when we can mount a serious challenge for a playoff place, the least we will acheive

Because we scared Chelsea in the first leg. Kicked the FA into action to protect the big boys

Isn't it the EFL veto-ing it as the two legs are good financially for smaller clubs and they want more money from the prem teams to scrap the two legs?

sure the small clubs make more going to the final if they managed to do them over one game, but the EFL won't acknowledge that, but is nice you at least get your own home leg to enjoy as the lower club.

the reality is that its more so they have a better final to sell in markets that may not have committed to paying for tv coverage yet or have tv deals coming up for up coming years, plus sponsorship will always be more competitive with top premier league teams getting in the finals all the time.

plus its more TV money to share out having 4nr semi finals broadcasted all around the world than it is showing just 2.
