Would you be referring that other teams don’t have injuries or we incur more then others. Do you have the stats or figures on the X amount of teams. Would that 2, 3 or 10.

Why are you desperate to try and prove the team you support is rubbish? It’s blatantly obvious we’ve suffered a ridiculous amount of injuries this season sorry if that goes against your narrative.

Yeah when Engel went forward someone should of filled in at Left back but no one did

It’s not that easy though is it, if Howson fills in at left back for example then there’s a nice big hole in center mid instead. Everyone knows in football you try and push attacking teams wide. What should have happened imo is Howson shouldn’t have committed himself so far forward, not necessarily filled in at left back .

Just realised out of 15 home games this season in the league we've only scored 16 goals. 4 of them were against Preston which makes the stat look worse. It feels like the chance creation has largely been there in most games so this is something that will need to be addressed.

We struggle to create chances in general and many of the better ones we do create go begging due to poor finishing, so to be honest I'm not surprised.

Obviously we've had a few games where we've bucked the trend, but overall we've not been great in front of goal this season. We could probably do with better quality up front, but we've been plagued by injuries to such an extent, Carrick has struggled to put out a settled lineup, which won't have helped either.

This isn't really true.

We are:

4th in xG overall (47.1)
6th in xG at home (24.2)
2nd in xG away from home (22.2)
6th in shots on target per match (5.3)
4th in big chances (74)

We also happen to be 2nd in Big chances missed (50)

that's where we're falling down.

We create plenty of opportunities.

I just think we're a couple of good players away for a team to really challenge the playoffs next season & a Cameron Archer away from challenging the top 2

Saying that, what is to say our injury crises doesnt continue into next season, which in all honesty, has been a bigger burden than the opening 7 fixtures without a win of not progressing

I still feel that O'brien jogged away from their scorer while thinking "not my job" ...

Yes I get it, that he had another player to cover, but he wasn't in a dangerous position yet ... Their scorer was!

And I stick with this opinion eventhough NB thinks I'm Mental 😛

O’Brien rightly goes with the man running through the middle and Howson suddenly sees the danger and tries to get back.

I dunno. O'Brien doesn't really go with anyone, he just wanders into the middle and if anything ends up running towards the man with the ball. Howson sprints past him to pick up the guy who has jogged past O'Brien to the edge of the box.

And watching that vlog - as their attack is building, O'Brien looks across to the side a few times, probably looking to see if there is a threat there. Which suggests to me he knows that side was his responsibility. Then he slowly drifts into no-mans land and doesn't seem to notice Rusyn at all.

I guess the stat guys count chances created differently. It doesn't feel like we create that many when I watch. Though as I said I have noticed we do miss a lot of the ones we do create.

I didn’t state they were rubbish. I did expand on my reasoning.
From the age of 12 through to mid sixty I witnessed some hard and glorious times, I would walk to Ayresome Park, I would scrip and save to travel home and away in all weathers regardless of results. My expectations have always been balanced realistic.

They don't look like big chances as we miss them by a big distance. I'd say that azaz chance at the weekend was a big chance but he smashed it over the bar by some distance

Think Azaz didn't realise he didn't need to first time it and could have taken a touch to control it better. Looked to be a lot of spin on it from where I was, so not as easy as it may have seemed at first glance. Hopefully it doesn't get to him too much and he settles into the form he showed at Plymouth.

When you think the worldy he scored for Plymouth then the chance against Sunderland was just a simple tap in, he just rushed, sort of panicked, he'll come good when he established & a few games under his belt
