Remember the Bristol City game in our Charltons champions season, me & my brother in the boysend so excited to be seeing a Celtic superstar & european cup winner in Bobby Murdoch playing for us, we weren't this excited since Nobby Stiles signed for us

Bobby played the Tuesday night away to Blackpool but we were to see him live & he didn't disappoint us as he scored on his home debut to put the Boro one up against second division leaders Bristol City, who were two points better off that us

Boro won the game 2-0 in front of our biggest crowd of the season with a David Armstrong goal & joined City at the top, second on GD, for the time been though

Topics for discussion

1) Score and line-up predictions?

1104030868_lineup-builder(2).png.d3f71b32585e3d82b57989f87bc950c5.png

Even though Bristol will likely be knackered from their cup tie and possibly carrying some knocks and niggles, they will probably still manage to give us a tough game. I'll go for a scrappy win by the odd goal, although we'll miss a few good chances for a comfortable win.

Middlesbrough 1 - 0 Bristol

2) Where do you think we will finish in the league?

8th - a point or two outside the play-offs.

3) After Keiron Scott's interview, are you expecting any free transfer signings? Who would you recommend?

The only name that seemed to have any real potential is Ake Loba. Might be tough to bring him in though, as it seems he's quite happy in South America, but he seems by far the pick of the bunch. Young, pacy and able to find the net fairly regularly. The other names mentioned are either old, injury-prone or not in great goal-scoring form.

4) Who are the best and worst people to come from Bristol?

Best: Actor David Prowse (best known for playing Darth Vader). By all accounts a jolly nice chap.

Worst: Edward Teach (a.k.a notorious pirate Blackbeard)

Bristol City players will of had very little preparation for this one and going 120 minutes and penalties with forest will of mentally and physical drained them. So we should go into this one with confidence of getting a result. Having mcgree back in the side should increase energy levels.

Interesting to see some people dropping Barlaser. For me he’s been our best and most consistent player there for a month or so now. Not that I’m asking for him to to dropped, but if there’s a player that deserves dropping on current form it’s Hackney, not Barlaser.

I think Hackney's ceiling is a lot higher and we get the most out of him playing in the centre-mid position. I don't mind him further up but would much prefer to see us bring Hackney back into midfield and bringing McGree back into the fold. Mind you, I'd probably be fine with either Howson or Barlaser dropping to the bench to accommodate that move so I wouldn't necessarily say Barlaser has to be the sacrifice.

Carrick saying Hackney played really well at number 10 on Sunday, which I don't agree with at all, I'm hoping he's back in central midfield tomorrow.

His talents are much better suited to a deeper position where his ability to receive the ball in tight spots and pass through the lines can be utilised.

Then we need to put them on the back foot from the off. No more slow ponderous build up.
