Kieffer Moore £40k a week with bonuses. Might as well bring Garry monk back if we was making decisions like that

This is just you guessing though. His wages are reported as between 25-40k. However the Bournemouth newspaper writes that Ipswich are covering 75%. So if he's on 40k then Ipswich are paying 30k a week whis is rougly 600k for the rest of the season. And that might even be less. I would say it's a commitment we should have been able to make. It would certainly be better than playing a semi injured Coburn or an attacking midfielder up front.

Why do you seem to be under the assumption that we only have 1 target at a time?

Just because we didn't get anything over the line doesn't mean we didn't try multiple avenues?

Because I find it weird that we couldn't find a single player either permanent or on loan that represented value when we apparently had 9 million to spend on one player. That's why I'm more of the belief that we didn't really look or try and were more than content to just go with what we have. If we really wanted a striker we should have been able to identify one.

You tell me. Some games he was anonymous, others he admittedly did well. Hard to gauge progress when performances are inconsistent.

But you could say the same about Hackney. He recently had a spell as one of our better players, but just lately he seems to have gone off the boil.

Its hard for good individuals to stand out in teams that are poor overall (although McGree seems to buck that trend).

In any case, picking out individuals when the team continues to be so erratic and downright poor at times is clutching at straws a bit I think. I don't see how our coaching staff are actually earning their money.

Only Premier League Aston Villa have stopped Middlesbrough from scoring since Boxing Day, including the two outings against Chelsea in the EFL Cup.
(9 matches).

I have been saying all along that our defence will be what ultimately cost us. Not our attack/lack of striker.

Yeah you're right. We're simply conceding way too many goals, but then again 11 teams have scored more goals than us. 11 teams have also conceded more, so I guess a mid table position is fairly accurate for us.

Why would he join us over Ipswich? No reason at all this season.

And again, who's to say we didn't but Moore chose Ipswich given how much better they were doing than us. We clearly have a list of targets and none of them worked out. At that point you don't buy someone just to show willing. Ultimately, as well, there are only so many players we can do enough research on to feel confident of spending multiple millions on. We don't live in an era any more of sending Ronnie Jepson to watch a match then sign someone on gut instinct.

I'm not saying that we are fantastic at recruitment. We have definitely made some duff signings since Scott took over but we do look to be much better organised and more systematic in what we're doing. Apart from left backs. At one point it looked like our formation was going to be image.png.00ea94ffd79a3e6e54fb0da825c83d9b.png

was always the case, you cant replace them goals

said all along just stop conceding the goals and the goals are fine to get where we want

love to see us play like we did vs Leicester vs more clubs, would give them a bit of a shock.

if deings back to full fitness get him back in the team, they need his feet more than glovers feet there, no disrespect to glover he's done himself justice after a terrible pre-season but after the save deing is more effective than glover is

if we have to do that weird 5 at the back again we did then go for it, it looked good, if we can pickup players that allow us to play the old way in the summer go back to it

we will also be confusing the other teams expecting us to be the same as we are now. I always think its why new managers get a good half a season in when take over coz the teams haven't played us to get their data and work out where they went wrong after they got beat. second time around people are usually more ready

there's been good points in this season when we have clearly toughened up defensively and spent a good 40 mins+ just trying to work out the best way to pick the lock, I think its something that could work for us with no one else brought in right now, clearly weaker without rogers but these lads are hungry to take his place too. We need mcgree back in there he has a point to prove for sure and before he got injured that was what we were seeing

Does that include Carrick as the Head Coach?

All that and arguably not a single left-winger among them.
