Thankfully sounds like Carrick's not in the running.

Carrick has got alot of tactical stuff wrong recently the way he set us up at Bristol don't think any of us would of played the 4 cm in midfield and kept Mcgree on the bench. Then the night at Stamford Bridge the instructions was suicidal football

This is a lie.  There was no needs must on Saturday.  Sorry but this is the nonsense I was on about the other day.

  • Kieffer Moore £40k a week with bonuses. Might as well bring Garry monk back if we was making decisions like that

Can you do everyone a favour and *** off

Lose tomoro and we would likely be 9 and 10 points off half a dozen play off chasers...

Not that I have any hope of the playoffs anyway. But think so many decent teams that far ahead of us even the optimistic would concede

Wow, Bristol City comfortably beat Southampton 3-0.

Hull come from behind to win at Rotherham to go 7th

Norwich up to 6th

Leeds up to 2nd with the Saints thumping

After tonights results, Boro look more like a midtable team than ever

Takes some of the pressure off, at least.

We're not in the hunt any time soon, whatever the result.

To be honest this squad is just about mid table. Not surprising when you compare us to the teams above us. We needed much more quality and experience. The old adage of you get what you pay for is very true where Boro are concerned this season.

Lets hope tomorrow night after a good performance & win gives us renewed hope & puts our season back on track, for the time been anyway

I’m not sure what everyone has been expecting this season lol, we were an upper/mid table team even before the injuries. Most of the players just aren’t as good as made out.

the 6 game winning streak gave us all false hope

Defeat tonight.

Cant see us scoring. (If Forrs plays up top then I might change my opinion.) Can certainly see us conceding.

2-0 Preston.

At least we're not in a relegation battle.

Happy Valentines.

Yea need the three points tonight.

in hindsight, would people have rather we had gone out of the cup sooner? Fresher players, maybe less injuries etc?

or would it have made no difference at all

Of course we are. If we win we're only 4 points outside the playoffs and we'll even have a game in hand over some of the teams around us. It only takes 3 good results to get in or must outside the playoffs. That said though we need Carrick and the players to step it up.

I'm just content now to be amused by the selection, how the team is set up and the tactics employed by Carrick and his Coaches (don't want to miss anyone out).

The result now is almost immaterial. What I do want to see is if Carrick is "learning" or disappearing up his own orifice which is the norm sadly for many "found out" Manager's.

The next few months are make or break time for him for me. Hope he sorts his head out for everyone's sake.

This season Boro and the Play Offs are like a lap dance. So close, tantalising, teasing, brief excitement and glimpses of pure joy but never getting close to touching.
