Winning tonight wouldn't necessarily make us a decent side though was my point.  Preston were awful, and it wasn't because we made them look bad, they were just garbage tonight.

I think his point is we’re not far short of being one of them 5th-8th teams. If we want to go the extra step and be a 1st-4th team however…

The thing is our pattern of play is as good as it was last season the difference is the personal can't finish their chances as a consequence we lose to sides we completely dominate for large periods of the game. But we all knew this was going to happen when we 'ever signed a striker or a winger in janaury so the season has gone despite us being in a great postion at the start of janaury. They simply has been no ambition like they was last year to get us promoted and it's not even due to a lack of funds with Rogers money we should of signed 3 or 4 players really

Agree with this - if you take your chances you build confidence. Everything becomes easier including defending.

Perhaps if we stopped continuously playing out from the back when we clearly don't have the players skilful enough to do it might help, most of our goals against must come from sloppy passing and playing ourselves into trouble, its getting very repetitive, we also slow it down passing across the back allowing the opposition to get back and into shape, we need to speed it up, thought Azaz played well, Hackney well off it.

I'm pretty furious atm, dunno who annoys me more Carrick for refusing to change, recruitment team for not delivering the players Carrick needed to do what he did last season/Gibson for not investing when he knew we were close last season or the players sloppiness at the back every week.

I know but my point is that the current 5th to 8th teams aren't very good so simply being there ourselves wouldn't make us a good side.  We need more than two players to get close to where we are aiming to be.

Seasons over but I do feel we will go on a run after the international break once everyone's back fit. We will fall short by about 8 to 10pts imo and lack of goals will cost us which we all knew at the start of the season would cost us

I was concerned straight after 31st August when the window shut.

Can't understand the frustration towards Scott when he's just made us significant profit on a 6month signing

On paper next season

                 Dieng

New rb  vdb  fry/lenihhan  bangura

    New Defensive cm   hackeney

Jones/forss   azaz    new attacker

      Lath/New striker

I don't think a massive rebuild is required but we need at least 4 quality signings in the above positions.
