I know but my point is that the current 5th to 8th teams aren't very good so simply being there ourselves wouldn't make us a good side.  We need more than two players to get close to where we are aiming to be.

Oh yea I totally agree, 6 senior players in summer I’d say we need depending on who goes or stays etc.

Seasons over but I do feel we will go on a run after the international break once everyone's back fit. We will dall short by about 8 to 10pts imo and lack of goals will cost us which we all knew at the start of tge season.

I was concerned straight after 31st August when the window shut.

Can't understand the frustration towards Scott when he's just made us significant profit on a 6month signing

On paper next season

                 Dieng

New rb  vdb  fry/lenihhan  bangura

    New Defensive cm   hackeney

Jones/forss   azaz    new attacker

      Lath/New striker

I don't think a massive rebuild is but we just need at least 4 quality signings in the above positions.

Sounds great til we get injuries.

It just felt like once we scored Preston were like oh *** we best score then - and they did. The defence cannot withstand any type of pressure and just capitulate.

We rely on not conceding goals by keeping the ball and so not subjecting our defence to any pressure. It is no coincidence that when we go up against a team like Chelsea who can keep the ball better than us and so put our defence under constant pressure we concede 6. There is a decent chance Leicester rip us a new one.

The truth is you don't need world beaters in this league but we simply have too many players who can't defend and no goalscorer, two issues which highlight each other

Can't defend and can't score...

Sounds like we got this league Promotion challenge nailed on

We weren't put under pressure as such for either goal tonight though.  We had the ball and gave it away twice leading to goals.

I think Hackney is going nowhere. His stock will have dropped in the last 2 months and we've shown we won't sell on the cheap. We'll bank on him getting back to his best next season and going for big big money the following year.

I hope so i just dont have much faith we will. I really think if we have a chance of actually getting it right next year then Hackney has to stay the task is already masive as is.

Glover 100% at fault for the 1st goal imo, though Clarke should have just cleared his lines. Looks like he was caught in 2 minds to play a pass or get it out, annoyingly just a couple of yards further on the clearance and they wouldn’t have scored. Either way it was a fanny of a shot and glover should have stopped it, at least the Sunderland goal had a bit of power on it.

Their 2nd was just ridiculous luck, if he’d of tried to pass to the guy making the run he couldn’t have played it anymore perfect.

Judging our defending off them goals is just pointless imo, keeper error and luck won them the game. The only good bit of play in their goals was the touch on the first goal to get the ball under control and beat the defender.

We need those 4 positions as an absolute minimum, problem is that we also need back up in those 4 positions meaning 8 players. Plus if we can't improve our record with injuries we need more still to cover in other positions unless someone/s step up in the dregs of this season.
