the "if we had a striker" argument doesnt hold much water when it wasn't our no.9 on the night missing chances

Greenwood had one of his 2 shots at goal from inside the box in 69 minutes. His average position on the night is in line with Azaz, who had 5 shots but none of them were inside the box. He might not have been missing chances all night but it's because he was never in the right position to begin with, something which very much points to the lack of a striker.

The team according to a poster on FMTTM.

Hoping it's wrong.

Carrick has lost his *** mind if Glover is still starting ahead of a fit Dieng.

That’s the same team I’ve heard 👍🏻

Ffs.

Something has definitely happened behind the scenes with Dieng.

Unless there was an agreement with Glover that he'd be guaranteed a certain number of starts if he didn't go away with Australia, it makes absolutely no sense, he's made mistakes in every match.

The only thing I can think is that he just isn't 100% fit. But then I have to question why he's on the bench. If Glover gets injured, what happens exactly?

There's no way of having Glover on the pitch with Dieng on the bench that makes any sense, right now.

By dropping Glover it might just shatter his confidence completely and for what? this season is effectively over

I really hope that's the team now, I don't even care about the result, I just want to see what happens on here if that team is announced tomorrow 😀

It feels more like a team that's being put out there to expose someone leaking it than the real one.  Although I suppose Forss could also be injured as well.

Don't listen to that outside noise Boro 🙃

Cos he's our second choice keeper, and well behind our first choice keeper?

Because he's *** and I'd sooner we kept Dieng up to speed and motivated for next season.

We do seem to have a habit of putting clearly unfit players on the bench so maybe we're just continuing that trend?  Seems a weird way to do things mind, it's a good job we had a good season last time out, or I think more people would be getting fed up with certain things now.

Maybe he is fit enough that it would be worth the risk if Glover gets injured but wouldn't want him to get re-injured against Leicester because we know we're up against it anyway. I dunno. Going round in circles to even try to justify it. Shame we didn't seem to have a press conference for this one.

I suppose the counter point to that would be if you're worried about him getting injured when starting surely there's no real difference to being worried about him being injured when coming of the bench?  Otherwise just put Jones on the bench, and leave Dieng until you're comfortable with him being properly involved.  I mean we kept putting Coburn on the bench but then either not using him or barely using him no matter what the match situation was, so what was the point exactly?

I can't see anything having happened with Dieng he's most likely just not 100%. He'll be in as soon as deemed able
