TeaCider24 13,967 18.6k
Thought as much with Latte Lath, knew it would take longer to get him back from the way Carrick was speaking the other week.

Neverbefore 12,328 26.6k
How do we still not know what howson and hackney's injuries are? There's no way surely... why do our injury updates need to be shrouded in mystery all the time? It's so irritating

I was told what Hackney's issue was yesterday, so they definitely know.

Bruce 1,955 1.7k
It'll be interesting to see how Carrick sets us up. The teams that set up most similarly to us are Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton. Looking at the records at home Leicester GF 40, GA 11 Ipswich GF 41 GA 26 Soton Gf 40, GA 20 Us GF 17, GA 18. Despite it seeming that we lose because we concede endless soft goals, in fact our defensive record is better than the Ipswich and Soton. The problem is that we are scoring less than 1/2 the number of goals despite creating similar number of chances. The only team with a worse conversion rate is Sunderland and wouldn't you know it, both teams are lacking any sort of functioning striker. It seems to me that if your system is based on outscoring the opposition and being relatively open that you need a functioning striker. If you don't have a functioning striker, you don't play a system that needs one. Anyway, I would probably stick to 3 at the back and move Forss, our only functioning striker into the striker's role. May seem harsh on Silvera; he has improved. These days he's almost good enough to be a starter for a lower half Championship team. I would go with (depending on fitness) Dieng RVDB - McNair - Clarke Ayling - Barlaser - Thomas McGree - Azaz - O'Brien Forss 5-4-1 diamond with Azaz at the tip and Barlaser at the base. Tempted to stick with Engel because he has a good range of passing but Thomas is probably stronger defensively and we need a run of games from him to see what he can offer. Carrick will undoubtedly stick with 4-2-3-1 Almost any result can happen.

cornishboroboy 311 1.2k
Me and my lad driving up for this one. Really looking forward to it. Although he's going to be sat in the away end looking forward to making the memory with him. On that, can anyone suggest the best place for me to park?
