It would perhaps explain why we have been so crap at it all season.

Maybe we didn't appreciate that Steffen was a lot sharper with the tactic due to being indoctrinated in it at City with Pep and knew when/where/who to release to.

I don't think we have been crap at it all season, mate. I'd be more frustrated if I thought we had been, for sure.

My annoyance with the players right now, particularly Barlaser in that situation, is often that they are better than they have shown. Barlaser is more intelligent than to turn on the edge of his own 18-yard box. He might not be the answer to all our problems, I don't think any of our midfielders resolve the gap between defence and midfield, even Hackney can't play every role we need in that midfield and he's probably the one with the most quality. But I think they're more capable than they showed on Saturday.

Even if you think Dieng is responsible for that chance, the lazy left-footed pass into the area in front of our own box in the first half was very much all Barlaser. He's better than that, I've confidence he can be better than that, I'm frustrated when he shows me otherwise.

I think part of the issue is that Hackney and Howson are better footballers. They're more adept at playing that way but they've been out for long periods. Injuries are the story of our season. It's easy to forget just how much of an impact they've had.

Right the play off push begins tonight. We have scared off other clubs from going for Carrick so now he is ours until next season. I'm not expecting a repeat of last seasons performance so 4-0 will suffice. I'm going to put myself through it and watch the game tonight after correctly missing our games against Plymouth and Stoke.

I'd probably play a similar formation to the Leicester game it's negative but I think we are conceding too easily and this season going a goal behind is essentially converting into a loss.

I did believe everything you put but then giving Norwich a big fat zero is stretching it a bit 😉

Think it's impossible to say who is to blame for that goal between dieng and barlaser. For me there's two options -

Dieng plays the ball and gives a man on shout but barlaser turns anyway - barlasers fault.

Dieng plays the ball and doesn't give any direction on where barlaser needs to go (ie the only option here is to pass to vdb so he needs to be telling him that) - diengs fault.

Well never know for sure, but it's a massive gaffe if the gk doesn't communicate as he's making that pass.
