I don’t think it’s a coincidence our form has improved without Greenwood in the starting lineup

To be fair to Greenwood we have no idea what is going on with knocks, niggles, other issues. He has scored a couple of excellent goals and it isn’t long ago that people were saying what a good deal we had with the purchase option. Perhaps a little patience is needed.

I agree that he's contributed a couple of well-taken goals, but I've seen nothing else from Greenwood, barring lots of running around and harrying opposition players. I genuinely don't know what his other talents are or where they may lie, what his best position is or what he brings to the team that any other attacking midfielder couldn't.

You could blame hypothetical knocks or other issues for any player in any team underperforming at any time, but ultimately we can only judge what we witness based on what we're told by the club - and we've been told nothing about possible reasons for his underperformance. On that basis, it's hard to argue he's worth retaining when the loan spell ends.

One or two people did seem to think we'd done well bringing him in earlier in the season, but they were always in a small minority - and they're a lot quieter now!

Has Carrick actually turned a corner, managerially?

Was/is there a corner to turn?  Carrick’s had a difficult hand dealt to him this season and I always felt we would struggle to match last seasons form.  Chuba was on fire and we had some great loan players which left us in a bit of a predicament.  I feel we will be in a better position next season

How much has luck (good or bad) effected this season?

I feel bad lucks played a huge part this season.  We've had a horrendous run of injuries and presently have a complete back four (Smith, Lenihan, Fry, Bangura) missing which would be looking to start.  Add to that Hackney, McGree, O’Brien, Coburn, Latte Lath and Forss being out for long periods and the loss of Howson and Jones at crucial times.  I don’t think there are many teams that could challenge for a top six place with that many injuries.

How many will we win by?

I predict a 1-1 draw tonight but feel if we get the first goal we will win clearly.

Starting 11?

I have a feeling Jones will start tonight and we could see Forss starting up front.  Carrick mentioned something about Forss finishing and also the length of time Latte Lath was out.  I have a feeling he will rest Latte Lath and play with Forss up top.  Greenwood might play up top if Jones doesn’t start.

Well that's my tenner spent looking forward to the game but then again I always do.

No wine tonight so that should equate to no whine either!

After two decent results I think we should go on and get a hat trick of positive results.

And let's hope we see Carrick implementing the good part of his coaching prowess.

Oh for the want a few missing players hey?

I think Barlasar gets some unfair stick, in the period when we were playing really well he was standing out as a performering well for us & when the team were struggling he was targetted, I dont think, due to Barlasar out, the results have improved because of that, as with Jones out too, yet he needs to be in our starting eleven, my opinion mind for what its worth

Barlaser is a good footballer being asked to do something I don't think he's overly comfortable with. But even with that, as you say, he did have a couple of stand out performances. I think most people who know football can see there's a player in him if used right.

I disagree he’s a ‘midfield 3’ player who needs 2 others to do the leg work and let him find space. He’s good once he’s found that space and can pick out a pass but he’s easy to take out of a game. He’s a temu Pirlo.

Agreed 👍

Against Chelsea & Aston Villa he was up there in both games as challenging for MOTM performance

Wait what part do you disagree with then lol? I said he is a good footballer playing in a role he's not good at, you've said something similar?
