Whilst we all pass on our wishes to the Boro I think we can all agree that we send out our best wishes to Tony Mowbray.

I remember them beating us on Boxing Day (2004?) when Viduka went off injured. He was taken off on a stretcher and when they lifted it up, the whole crowd with perfect timing shouted "HEAVE".

I have a feeling Azaz will prove to be the best ball player in the club and will be key next season.

Hope you are right .

Unchanged for three games in a row - when was the last time that happened?

Still would have liked to have seen Finch on the benchvwith Greenwood or Gilbert missing out

Carrick again said he was returning from injury and was trying to protect him.  I personally feel he would have benefited from being on the bench. 👍

Barlaser is a good footballer being asked to do something I don't think he's overly comfortable with. But even with that, as you say, he did have a couple of stand out performances. I think most people who know football can see there's a player in him if used right.

What if you don’t know football and you think there’s a player in him? Does that make him crap?

I don’t think it’s a coincidence our form has improved without Greenwood in the starting lineup

Our form has improved for 45 mins, the second half at QPR.  We weren't good in the first half, and the first half hour of the Norwich game we offered nothing at all before the sending off.  I think we need to see more than a good half before we can really talk about form improving, and obviously we can add to it tonight.  Greenwood played against Stoke but he didn't start against Plymouth the week before, and we were as bad as we've been all season in that one.  Whatever you think of Greenwood, I think it's a bit unfair to blame him for our poor form.  We've been equally bad with and without him in the side.

Socrates, Voltaire, Kant, Locke, Wittgenstein, HoyteForLeftBack.  The great philosophers.

Very strong bench too

Really? Apart from Jones, there isn't a single player I'd be pleased to see come on tonight. Azaz could (and hopefully will) come good given time and opportunities, but Silvera has shown very little, while Gilbert and Greenwood have shown even less. Thomas can get in the bin, Dijksteel was turning in some woeful performances back when he was fully fit, Glover is...well, Glover, and Barlaser is something of a luxury player - great when you're winning but not up for the fight in the face of adversity.

I think tonight's bench encapsulates why we won't get promoted this season. Our strongest XI is as good as any in the league, and we have a couple of injured players who'd also be competing for a starting berth. Beyond that core of 14-15 quality players, the rest of our squad is League One standard, not pushing for Premier League standard.
