It wasn't a bad penalty so I Don't think it's an awful decision. With ELL we've seen what his finishing tends to be like when he has time to think about what he's doing. In that situation I feel he is far more likely to sky a pen than Greenwood is. Would probably have howson ahead of ELL too tbh

Lath has only missed 1 pen in his career to date to be fair, and has 100% record for us. Albeit a tiny sample size. Howson missed his last one and I prefer the forwards to take responsibility.

I agree no real issue with Greenwood taking it because his dead ball is excellent, but I don't think he'll take the next.

Mate what is the point of being a fan if this is your first reaction to a dominant win during a run of 4 wins and 2 draws? You were complaining about how bad we were defensively yet weve conceded 2 go

Really proud again of the team for turning a corner and finishing the season in strong fashion. Not arsed about the play offs at all, but at least they can hold their head high and make me feel proud

He's still a bit inconsistent from match to match, but I'd look at signing O'Brien permanently.

Only realised that ayling got another assist for Jones's goal. 4 in this run of 6 games unbeaten. He's been solid at the back too. Really important and I really think we should be considering signing him.

He's looked better in a back 5 than he did in a four. I think he's a good squad player but I worry about him being exposed against some of the better sides personally. I think we would like a first choice RB that's a bit more athletic, but Ayling and Smith are both excellent backup options. That's working on the basis that we are aiming to get into the top 6 next year

I don't disagree with that but we shouldn't have been as poor against Rotherham either.

Watching Sky Sports and their observations about Wednesday are even more damning than mine. The three points are great and it was a far more comfortable watch than many (in fact most) home performances this season especially the second half, but let's not get too carried away and delusional. As DZ said at half time we should have been three up but the fact we weren't is because too many players in the squad are nowhere near good enough including the loanees that I hope to heck we don't sign if all they can do is outperform todays opposition.

Beating a turd side is something we've struggled to do a few times this season though. It's been a genuine issue, we've got a better record against the top sides than the bottom ones.

So was good to see it happen without really breaking a sweat.

This as well.

Poor from the referee today.

I know most of you saw the replays at the time, but just thought it might be interesting for any who missed it.

Fully agree!

Saturday 2nd March when we got smashed 2-0 by Stoke seems a mile away.

3 goals conceded, 9 scored and 0 defeats out of 6 is a great run with a squad depleted of injuries

Weird post win mental problem, looking at the fixtures of Norwich Cov Hull Preston.

Come Saturday evening we could be right back in it

Yeah I just don't understand when people's first reaction is to be negative and down on what we've done when we're in such a good run of form. We're not getting promoted, everyone has come to terms with that so just enjoy the fact that we're doing well consistently right now.

6 points off the playoffs

Sheffield Wednesday very poor but take no credit away from our comfortable performance even despite all the injuries

Said I felt we would go on a run at some point but end up short 8 to 12pts from play offs and believe this will be the case with our tough run in.

Credit where credit is due, thought Greenwood looked dangerous today and he actually looked interested .

Barlaser and Obrien pulled the last strings which put us on the front .

Ikr I don’t get why some posters seemingly go out of their way to randomly point it out as if it’s fact. “Great win today, btw we’re not getting promoted everyone”. Like we can make our own minds up, just let us enjoy the small chance we still have 😂

The ref signaled afterwards that he didnt give it due the how close the player was to Jones.

His arm is above his head whilst stood naturally and blocking a shot on goal.

It's not like he's jumped and been hit at point blank range, he's swung his arm above his head whilst trying to block a shot.

Incorrect decision from the ref.

Dijksteel putting absolutely zero effort in.

He's definitely off in the summer.

Don't really get this post at all mate.  I thought he did make an effort.  He made a couple of runs off the ball and the passes to him were rubbish so he couldn't get near to them, I can't see how that's down to a lack of effort?  He got back to cover Ayling when he'd been beaten at least once that I can remember, and I think he set Greenwood up for a shot as well didn't he?  He only came on after 83 mins, and had more touches than both Gilbert and Silvera who came on at the same time as him.  I'm not sure what else you think he should have done in that amount of time?  Oh yeah, and didn't give the ball away at all.
