Don't really get this post at all mate.  I thought he did make an effort.  He made a couple of runs off the ball and the passes to him were rubbish so he couldn't get near to them, I can't see how that's down to a lack of effort?  He got back to cover Ayling when he'd been beaten at least once that I can remember, and I think he set Greenwood up for a shot as well didn't he?  He only came on after 83 mins, and had more touches than both Gilbert and Silvera who came on at the same time as him.  I'm not sure what else you think he should have done in that amount of time?  Oh yeah, and didn't give the ball away at all.

I did to, thought he done ok when he came on, got involved going forward, chased back when one of their players was away with the ball, done ok for me, unfair criticism TBH

He did run, the passes were terrible.

Don't agree, he jogged, and gave up on them very quickly.

The passes were poor, but so was his effort in salvaging them.

I've got no way of watching it back to see if I've misjudged it from where I was sat until the club uploads the full 90, but I don't care enough about it to still have that on my mind in 4 days time, they're usually very slow to put it up.

I don't genuinely think we'll make the play-offs, but I'm very conflicted about the Leeds v Hull match.

I don't want Leeds to go up, but I'd like to finish above Hull and a 2 goal margin defeat would see them drop below us.

Currently 1-1.

I don't really care about finishing ahead of Hull specifically but I'd quite like to see Leeds not go up.  Hopefully we'll beat them at home in a few weeks as well 🙌

Hulls manager not fussed on Giles either by the looks of it, dragged off before the hour

Giles right foot is better than Luke Thomas both feet put together.... I was really excited at the signing but he really is poor both offensively and defensively.

He does take set pieces though so I suppose a penalty falls into that category.  If you can hit 25 yard freekicks then a penna from 12 yards isn't unreasonable.  I haven't read through the thread but I hope people weren't giving the lad stick for it.  He struck it well enough, just slightly off target to where he wanted it to be.  It's not like he missed 7 sitters or owt, he just hit the post with a penalty 🤷‍♂️

Yeah joking aside a missed penna isn't a measure of a players ability, I just personally have a vendetta against strikers not being on pens

After the season I feel we’ve had I find it crazy how we are still 9th.

Makes them Rotherham games even more annoying, the sheff wed away game where  they barely looked like a football team, the Blackburn none event the other week, on the other hand I guess you could say the Leicester wins and the Southampton 4-0 win maybe balance it out?

I was probably saying it myself but it definately makes a mockery of the ‘it’s only August’ comments. But then I guess all of the teams around us will be able to point to results they should have really got.

Either way while it’s gonna be a game by game basis I think it’s a bit defeatist to say our season is over. We’re now above Hull who everybody had down as definate play off challengers and 6 points off 6th, the big thing against us being we’ve played an extra game. We could lose the next 2 and be out of it or win them and be right up there.

Hull have dropped off big time but also have a game in hand on us, as do Coventry and Preston. Preston's I think is Southampton away so who knows what will happen in that one. But I think Hull's game in hand is against Coventry so there's a good chance one of those teams gets a 3-point boost. We also have Leeds, Ipswich and Hull themselves to play in our final 6.

It's not over, we've gone from having people worried about relegation to talking about playoffs again what feels like very quickly and credit to Carrick and the players for that. But I think it's incredibly unlikely. I think looking at the teams in the running, Norwich are probably gonna make it by virtue of their run-in looking a lot kinder than all the other chasing teams. They have Ipswich next but then it's only Preston left to play from a promotion perspective. Sheff Wed and Brum could still need points to survive but Norwich should beat them regardless.
