Surely the team captain decides who takes a penalty not a petulant novice. Captains need to be leaders on the pitch. Yesterday was a prime example of this lack of leadership.

How do you know Greenwood isn't the designated penalty taker? He took every other set piece so hardly unrealistic that he is. Or are you just making things up again to perpetuate your unceasing state of misery to deal with the fact were in good form?

I honestly cant see the issue with Greenwood taking the penalty, im not his biggest fan & was hoping Silvera, who I dont rate, would have started ahead of him due to Silvera been our player & Greenwoods poor performances for us but thought he had a cracking second half & his confidence will have been up & strikes the ball well, lets be honest we're not blessed with good penalty takers

Howson & ELL were on the pitch & I think they've been the penalty takers rest of the year haven't they?

Latte Lath took one in the League Cup but with only McNair there that had regularly taken penalties before.

Howson has taken two, scoring one, Coburn was on the pitch for both of them.

Coburn took one, but could only score the rebound, Howson was on the pitch at the time too.

Forss took one against West Brom, Howson was on the pitch.

I don't think there's been a set taker judging from that.

Last season, it was Akpom, unless Forss was on the pitch.

Thanks for looking it up! 👍

Interesting that, I'm surprised we don't seem to have a set taker.

Thoughts on Saturdays game, Sheff Weds are the worst team we've seen at the Riverside this season

Some good performers, I even thought Greenwood was tremendous second half

The ref was shocking too

Why do Boro put us through it, I enjoyed the build up to the game & the match itself as I thought we're finishing 8th, 9th so just feel relax about it but typical Boro drag you right back into will they/wont they catch Norwich & as you, me & the goalpost know we'll build our hopes up, get one point of 6th place then totally mess it up

You just know that we will be 10 minutes from finishing 6th and then Watford notch an equaliser in the 88th minute to spoil things, but then Norwich and Coventry both grab late goals in added time ultimately pushing us down to 8th and Watford's equaliser being irrelevant in the end. It just wouldn't be Boro otherwise. Whatever happens I just hope we don't have a final game performance like the one at Preston where we just didn't show up.

So true, a month today we lost 2-0 at Stoke & things looked really poor, the atmosphere around the club was poor, Carrick was out the door if things didn't improve, we were inn a relegation fight with teams around us accustomed to that fight, whereas we have no fight

I never thought the latter was on, but didn't expect us to be where we presently are either, thought the season would continue along the lines of a win now & again between more beatings with a bottom half finish

As they say, "its the hope that kills you"

I recall the Stan Anderson era when we were already pre-programmed to be always the Bridesmaid but never the Bride. Apart from brief blips under Big Jack, Robbo, Mac and AK briefly that ingrained psyche saves a lot of disappointment.

I know what you are saying but I would Rioch to that . The 86/87 and 87/88 seasons were tremendous.  Even the relegation season of 88/89 we played some cracking stuff.
