Boro v Swansea City 2-0 (Latte Lath (2) )

Recommended Posts

Who would win in a fight out of eleven Swans or one Lion?

Swans easily, four of them would stick in the Lions throat leaving seven Swans a swimming.

If Boro had to play in a foreign league, what league would you want to see us join?

Eredivisie, direct flights from Teesside plus all those long weekends away and we would get to see Chuba a couple of times a year!

Team/score etc.

Team will more or less pick itself despite hints from Carrick to the contrary that a few are due back. I'd take that with a pinch of salt as we all know that if they were due back they would have been sat in plaster casts on the Subs bench for the last few games. Swansea are a bit "whatever" at the minute and I think we should be able to collect all three points so I'm going 2-0 to Boro.

The Bookies.

Philippines. Guaranteed win and I could go to the games.

Think we will edge it. But still believe the P offs are a pipe dream. But a win will certainly keep the dream alive. And a pipe dream is better than a dream about turds. (JD honey whisky talking. Better leave. :classic_wacko:)

Can’t wait to see Bangura back, we were just starting to see what he has to offer when he got that injury.

I'd be sorely tempted to play Bangura as LWB and Engel as Left Midfield or vice versa. I think the two of them could link up and cover one another brilliantly.

I'm pretty sure they have played together on a couple of occasions this season, with Bangura further forward and that's the way I'd prefer it if it was to happen again. Think the game Bangura actually got injured in was Chelsea when Engel was LCB and Bangura was LWB.

Yeah, thought I'd recalled they played together after substitutions or something briefly but wasn't sure if I was misremembering or just senile.

Think they can both cause a threat attack wise and can both defend reasonably, not great but in fairness better than Giles' defensive qualities. The pair of them could keep us tight and resolute within reason yet terrify the opposition if they broke free and more importantly not knowing which one is the main threat. Jones and Ayling on the other side could give us some serious penetration and take some pressure of ELL and whoever else is in support of him, Azaz, Greenwood, McGree etc. I reckon it would also give our defence a little less work by being on the front foot more.

Talking Points

-       Who would win in a fight out of eleven Swans or one Lion?

Reckon it'd be a stalemate. The lion might get one or two swans if it could grab their necks, but I think the rest would learn fast and give it the old Muhammad Ali "rope-a-dope" just staying out of range until it got tired. They'd give it some nasty pecks but wouldn't be able to take it down.

Win on points for the swans by forcing it to eventually run away? 🤷‍♂️

-       If Boro had to play in a foreign league, what league would you want to see us join?

Faroe Islands? Guaranteed league champions / CL football? Bet that would also make @Borodane and @SmogDane very happy! 😁

-       Team/score etc.

Despite the result against Wednesday, I'd like to see us go back to 5-3-2.

When we play 4-2-3-1 we look tidy but unthreatening. Just checked the match stats and despite dominating possession and having 23 shots at goal...only 5 were on target. We ended up needing an OG and a flukey cross-shot to score.

While this line-up is definitely a bit makeshift, my thinking is the different formation might enable us to have players in better positions to carve out better goal-scoring chances, instead of having so many forward pushes fizzle out around the 18-yard box.

Great that we have guys like Hackney, Bangura & Finch back in training, but I wouldn't want to risk starting them. Maybe have them on the bench and bring them on for 15-20 minutes?

-----Silvera / Gilbert-----Latte Lath------

-----Greenwood-----Azaz-----Jones-----

Engel--Clarke--Howson--McNair--Ayling

------------------Dieng-------------------

I think you need to look at a map 😉

According to Wikipedia the Faroes are "an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark".

Are you saying thats wrong?

(I'm aware Wiki isn't 100% reliable)

Aren't they ruled by Denmark?

Not directly. They're an independent overseas territory. Similar to the Falklands and a few other places that are still "owned" (not really) by the UK.
