SimonD 889 966
- Have you tried chip spice? If not, why not? Yep - What is the worst accent in the UK and why is it Hulls? LOL. Err people in Hull say 'Ull'. I used to work in Bridlington (where folk from Ull would come on their Olidays) and they'd say things like 'The best thing about Ull is the road going out of it'. I'm OK with the Hull accent. I'll go with Brummie - If you could have any company sponsoring the Riverside Stadium (which it would have to be named after), what would it be? My company, Curated Digital of course. That said, we have no money (and we really need some) so Gibbo would need to pay me, so its prob not gonna work. How about Ubex Pies? The UBEX Riverside has a nice ring (and smell) to it - Team/Score etc. We shouldn't be winning this one but we will win it 2-1 with the playoff dream still 'on', but then we'll lose an easy game at a later date. It's the hope that kills you innit. My team would be: Dieng, Ayling, Rav, Clarke, Engel, Hackney, Howson, Obrien, Jones, Azaz, Lath
BoroDave4 1,192 3k
I've not tried chip spice. I'd be willing to but you just can't beat salt and malt in my books. Especially with mushy peas. I don't hate the Hull accent you know. But Brummie is the worst I think. I went on a few dates with a Brummie lass and it took me until the fourth or fifth date to realize her name was Amy, and she just couldn't pronounce it. Have you go with the same team really unless Rav or Hackney are ready to start. I'll go 1-1.

Downsouth 6,743 36.2k
Our little unbeaten run could come to an end here so at this time I will gladly get a point from this as I said at this time. Hull will want to come at us right from the off and if we can play very direct a them we could cause an upset time will tell. Deffo a RB game I take it? It was created in Hull (despite being called American chip spice) and you don't usually get a choice on whether you want it or not when you get takeaway chickwn/chips in Hull. https://americanchipspice.co.uk/ Rather have chicken salt https://www.chickensalt.co.uk/shop/
Denzel Zanzibar 7,315 14.3k
Giles fit for selection on Wednesday. He's *** at defending, get Jones to target him early on. Bit worried about how well Ayling will be able to deal with him, mind.

I think he was a victim whereby because he was so good going forward people just assumed he was an attacking full back who couldn’t defend. He might have got caught out a few times earlier on but for the most part he was sound. Also speaks volumes that pretty much every team we used to play against actually targeted our right hand side in Smith.

I don't think he's awful defending 1 on 1 but seemed particularly vulnerable to balls over the top. That said he was normally pushed forwards with McGree floating in field while on the right side Smith sat deeper and Forss would bust a gut tracking back. Our tactical setup probably created more opportunities for opposing teams down the left before individual skill became a factor.
TeaCider24 13,968 18.6k
I'll be watching the Champions League, but there are two very important matches tonight that could give us another glimmer of hope for the remaining matches. Norwich, who have one of the worst away forms in the division, play Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough. Even with that poor away form, you'd expect a comfortable Norwich win, but it would be a massive, massive boost if they drop points. Stuttering Southampton also face Coventry, knowing that anything but a win would end their very slim automatic promotion hopes.

That's how I remember him too, missing headers on balls over the top and generally being caught in behind by fast wingers, I'd definitely say a lot of it was down to how we set up which caused him to be caught out of position when we turned over the ball but I also think he has to take some of the blame for being pretty poor defensively 1 on 1.

Has to be West Coast Cumbrian, everything once you pass through the Cockermouth time zone to enter 1950's Britain around Workington and Maryport. Finger nails down a Blackboard stuff. If you could have any company sponsoring the Riverside Stadium (which it would have to be named after), what would it be? Any within reasonable ethics and morality (which probably rules out a lot of the more prominent ones in Football today). Thinking of the popular pattern of tie ups with Airlines, KLM maybe to tie in with our local Airport, at least with KLM we avoid the obvious sportswashing connotation. Team/Score etc. So long as we keep it tight at the back I think we can nick it with ELL back to his best. Hopefully we can see a few like Hackney and RVB back in the side but I'm not convinced about their fitness despite being on the bench against Swansea. I think the Play Offs were a bridge too far anyway after too many insipid and downright poor performances. As it stands anything other than a win and our slender hopes evaporate. I'm from South Cumbria and you couldnt be more right about West Cumbria, it's like some weird form of Geordie Farmer, marra.
