Thought I'd be helpful and get the match thread started with the disappearance of Smogdane.

On Monday night at 8pm, Middlesbrough face Leeds United in a YORKSHIRE DERBY, it's a match that's of vital importance in the promotion race.

Leeds are 3rd in the Championship, and a point off the automatic promotion spots, they've only won 1 of their last 5 games and are fortunate that the two teams above them keep slipping up too.

We'll find out tomorrow whether Middlesbrough are finally mathematically out of the play-off hunt, if West Brom draw and Norwich win, it's done.

Luke Ayling and Sam Greenwood will be unable to play against their parent club but we've got the return of Paddy McNair to full training.

Questions -

What team would you pick?

What's your favourite thing about Leeds?

What are the odds on Bamford cheating yet again?

Will we derail their promotion push even further?

  • I do feel for Dijksteel though getting all this criticism, not that he wasn’t bad but it’s horrible to watch someone struggle like that when they’re clearly trying their best.

Just viewed highlights as couldn't follow the game earlier.    Not sure where to start but Leeds scored four at Portman Road against us earlier this season and whether we like them or not, have to adm

If Dijksteel does not start this, then the writing really is on the wall for him, if its jot already anyway.

I actually don't think he will start. I think Paddy will come in and we will change to a wing back system with Jones and Engel - which will say a lot about what MC thinks of Dijksteel in not trusting him at RB or as a 3rd CB (he played his best football there for us)

Also would not be surprised to see Hackney replace Greenwood and plsy in an advanced role but rather Silveria or Gilbert there:

Paddy VDB Clarke

Jones Howson O'Brien Engel

Silveria LL Azaz

Hackney hasn't been in the squad the last two games after making a fleeting appearance on the bench a couple of weeks ago. He's not ready to start a game. I think it'll be mcnair in for ayling like you say but I reckon vdb starts at right back like early on in the season. The rest will be unchanged likely

Edit- forgot Greenwood wouldn't be available

I totally forgot he returned to squad and then dropped out. Yeah in that case he on bench -at best.

What team would you pick?

Dieng

Dijksteel VDB Clarke

Jones Howson O'Brien Engel

Azaz ELL Silvera

Based purely upon who has been fit enough to be starting or on the bench recently. With his contract situation I can't see Paddy being risked unless he is totally match ready plus the Player himself wouldn't want to risk injury, bit of a gamble for me.

What's your favourite thing about Leeds?

Car showrooms, I have bought quite a few Cars from dealers in and around Leeds.

What are the odds on Bamford cheating yet again?

I'd be disappointed if he did but with the stakes so high for Leeds I guess if he see's an opportunity he'll go down quicker than Pally F*nny.

I suspect another draw, Leeds have been spluttering so we could take them but without Ayling our supply line is severely restricted (never thought I'd be thinking let alone saying that when we signed him). Do we want them in the Championship next season is maybe another way to approach the game?

I'd quite happily take a draw now, it keeps them down, keeps the unbeaten run going and keeps things very interesting in the promotion race.

What's your favourite thing about Leeds?

The countryside that surrounds it. I’ve got family in Rawdon and Yeadon and it’s beautiful around those parts

What are the odds on Bamford cheating yet again?

It’s odd because he never cheated when he played for us! 👀

Will we derail their promotion push even further?

I’d like them to go up, I hate playing them, but I bet we draw with them.

Leicester should be 2-0 down already, they're hanging on by a thread..

Leicester have been totally outplayed and are winning 2-0 now, hahah.

Beat Leeds and we're 6 points off the play-offs with 2 to play 😂

Obviously we have no chance of overcoming that gap, but it'd be nice to still have a little something to play for.

I can't stand Leeds and their fans, so it will give me great pleasure to watch us put a huge dent in their automatic promotion chances.

We're definitely playing well enough to beat them and I think we will.

Ayling will be missed but hopefully a switch to the back 3 will negate that, with Jones at RWB.

What's your favourite thing about Leeds?

Went to Uni there. As a student the city is perfect. Though wasn't great for the liver 🤣
