TeaCider24 16,137 21.1k
It's actually mad just how good Burnley's defensive record is this season. It's genuinely the best in the whole of Europe, because I've been sad enough to check all the league tables. 31 games, 22 clean sheets, 9 goals conceded. There are only a handful of teams from smaller leagues that have conceded marginally fewer goals, and they've all played at least 10 games less.

Yes but their xG is terrible so they're going to end up in serious trouble because like Azaz, the stats never lie unlike the table! In Carrick we trust "we're going to score more xG than you, Middlesbrough, na na naa!"

They might break our record of conceding only 8 home goals in a Championship season. They have conceded only 4 at home...Sunderland missing 2 pens helps that! and they have 8 home games left. Remarkable what they're doing, even if it is extremely boring to watch.
TeaCider24 16,137 21.1k
Yeah, I don't imagine for one second that it's particularly entertaining being a Burnley fan right now, but they'll all be laughing at the end of the season if they go up whilst boring the division to death with effective ultra-defensive football. It'll probably be very frustrating to have put up with it for the full season if they slip up at the end of it though. Fantastic achievement Big Jacks team conceded 8 at home, with 6 teams scoring past us Fulham & Orient twice Swindon, Sunderland, Luton & Millwall a goal apiece

Denzel Zanzibar 7,667 14.8k
The funny thing about Burnley is they'll go up, change absolutely nothing about their style of play and that rock solid defence will get absolutely mullered against Premier League attackers. Probably not as mullered as Kompany's style in the Premiership. I doubt they will stay up but a resolute set up will stand them in far better shape. Marvanelli 881 591
Another big game tonight. Coventry flying under Lampard so, very annoyingly, we need Leeds to do us a favour and take the 3pts.
TeaCider24 16,137 21.1k
Leeds winning 1-0 through Piroe, so far, so good. Coventry play QPR next, so if it stays like this then they can't both close the gap next week.

So its not like teams dont create against them, its more that the teals dont score on their chances. The PL teams would score 😉
TeaCider24 16,137 21.1k
Leeds denied what looked like a stonewall penalty there, weird. They're all over Coventry in the second half so far.
TeaCider24 16,137 21.1k
Don't understand how Leeds haven't scored again here. They've had so many 1 on 1s and 2 on 1s and they just keep messing up the final pass or kicking the ball straight at the keeper.
Erimus74 4,287 4.4k
Well another team who failed to draw level with the Boro, if only we had a manager who could get the best out of our squad we'd be ok with 5, 6 teams fighting for the final spot Edited Wednesday at 10:10 PM by Erimus74
