Had it gone in I think they would have dropped deep and we would have reverted to type huffing and puffing around their 18 yard box and then falling to a sucker punch. The atmosphere would have been toxic and I doubt very much that we would have even drawn.

It felt like they dropped deep as the game went on anyway, for the first 25 minutes they were dominating and had 60% possession then for the rest of the 65 minutes we got a foothold in the game and had 60% possession and managed to break them down to get the winner. But like you say I think if we'd gone down the confidence would've drained out of the players and the stadium.

Good old stats.

That goal line clearance will have added plenty to his points total, I'd guess.

Could be a massive turning point in our season that moment. Given how we have struggled after conceding so far this season, that clearance could have had a massive impact on what happened after.

Just managed to get the highlights to load. What a cracking header. Great movement from LL and Azaz for that.

Agreed. A proper instinctual finish. It's goals like that which I think show that he isn't just the headless chicken pace merchant that some people have made him out to be recently. I've seen enough crap strikers to know that you don't take a chance like that if you don't have something about you.

He was clearly low on confidence and I think it was the right decision to take him out of the team, but hopefully now he's gotten that burden off his shoulders he can build on that and go on another run. You can tell from watching his post-match interview just how much it was weighing on him and what a relief it was.

I didn't actually get to watch the game but have gathered how most players have played from the post game comments but nothing has been said about Conway from what I've seen - how did he get on?

I think he showed that he probably as suited for the lone role up front. Put himself about but he is missing some strength to lead the line alone. Decent with the ball at his feet, and his best position is probably behind a main striker or as a second striker. Useful player but LL will likely be back in the starting spot against Norwich. Hopefully Conway will give Azaz some competition for the spot.

Conway should be competition for ELL. I think they're too similar to play together. I don't see him as a direct replacement for Azaz either. If you're crow-barring him into this formation alongside ELL, i think he'd be best suited to the 'Forss/Stuani' role off the right but Doak and Jones have that tied up.
