I think Hamilton needs minutes on the pitch to improve, he looks neat and tidy so far

people expect another rogers from him, but rogers was 3 years ahead of him in first team league experience, he's playing his first games with us (bar 3 cup appearances at city)

Give the lad time, like all Carrick signings of late he will have a slow start but then will come good

Hamilton has a lot of work to do, he is young and still developing but he's not Doak level yet. He might come good though

Im just not seeing it with Hamilton!

There must be something about him as he makes the bench every week and often gets a few mins on the pitch, I just cant see what it is.

A lot of ppl blaming Clarke for the goal that we conceded, but it was Hamiltons fault, he looked around to make sure he had space, came to Clarke for the ball, looked to make sure he had space again and then was slow to react when the ball came to him.

Im not writing him off just because of the Man City links, they generally dont have bad players so there must be something about him.

the lads only ever played in 3 games before he come to us, that's likely what it is,

people were expecting him to come in like doak has and rip it up,

but I think with us getting doak its not giving him the chance to bed in the team on a regular basis and get that experience he needs to get to grips with the league, I think it may have been the intention for him to fight it out with jones and mcgree etc until we found out we could get doak and that took away one spot he would be fighting for

so he going to have to pick it up in training and as sub.

But the lad is more a long term prospect than I think everyone assumed, which I think was just based on that single game in the champions league where he scored a goal.

I think many expected Rogers V2, but when you look back at their careers before coming here Rogers had 3 more years of football league experience than this lad has.

I don't think he will turn out to be a dud for us, the fact city felt they had to put buy backs in the deal, but haven't on many other deals for younger players tells you they believe there is more to come. Like they never put any in for Rogers

I'd rather give him the season myself to settle in with the team, never know injuries might force our hand to play him, and he is clearly counted on for the squad numbers or wouldn't be included in the squad or getting picked. so to loan him out would mean us brining someone else in his place,

could only see us having that make sense if we got in a a too good to turn premier league player on loan, like we got with doak

To be fair to PG, he is not the most negative poster of all. He is just an apprentice because he keeps making mistakes and posting in a positive way...  not often, but definitely more than some 🙂

I liked how he seemed to want robins have longer at Coventry, when you knew if he supported them he would of been banging on his a month or two ago for him to go :classic_laugh:
