He defends that front post very well. The only thing I can think with Burgzorg is the added physicality he brings. If Mcgree needs a rest he should be giving Hamilton the nod for me. Hamilton has not done enough to warrant a starting place to be honest

Was about to say all this too Seems like it's been picked on physical attributes today
Dan1234 1,161 3.1k
Dunno what Burgzorg has done to start tbh. Though Hamilton was showing decent improvement, hell even Azaz over to the left and Conway behind would have been better. Shame for Mccormick.l, thought it'd be a real chance for him.
Donnyboro 1,024 1.3k
Really can’t get my head round resting mcgree regularly, we’re a miles better team with him just don’t click at all without him.
SouthernSmoggie 4,686 6.5k
Burgzorg for McGree is a huge downgrade, I can only think they're terrified of him getting another injury. No proper left back. We're going to be very lopsided today, hopefully Luton take too long to figure that out.
MarkT73 682 754
Barring injuries or niggles, resting 2 key players BEFORE the int break is ludicrous. Wt-actual-f ! I'm firmly ensconced in the Carrick camp, but this mambypamby wrapping in cotton wool when we need 3 PTS, at home, is nuts
Denzel Zanzibar 7,578 14.7k
Riley's foot must be playing up again. I can see why Carrick has gone with the team he has, Luton are a very physical team so Burgzorg over Hamilton makes sense. Doak could possibly be bullied today but I expect his pace to be a big issue for Luton

I just hope it isn't too late by then... At least we have a decent-looking subs bench.
Redcar Rioja 7,374 7.3k
Posted Monday at 05:04 PM I'd go with Barlaser to look to pick out Jones/Doak and someone on the left wing to open the game up and stretch things. McGree would be fine but he doesn't hog the left flank and tends to drift inside so don't shoot me but I'd give Burgzorg a go out there. His bloody minded stubbornness and energy just might cause QPR problems. Hamilton is the other obvious choice but thus far I haven't seen anything to convince me that he can offer a threat. Burgzorg is a loose cannon that just might cause as much confusion with QPR's backline as he will undoubtedly do with us 🤣. I posted the above before the QPR game, seems like I'm not the only one with that train of thought. If it goes well I'll take the plaudits, if it implodes blame Carrick 😁
Borodane 7,082 26.8k
Burgzorg is a bit of a weird call. Has mainly been very poor but maybe he is ready to take his chance. It’s certainly a big one for him as he needs to go into the break on a high if he wants to game time when they return.

LincsBORO88 166 119
If Riley has had plantar, I've no issue with us managing it. Think he's gone for burgzorg for his pace with how much Luton pack the middle of the pitch, he's a bit more direct than hamilton and with Doak on the other side could it be interesting. Also with Ayling playing on his weaker side it would make sense to have a more traditional type winger there. Don't know what to expect as far as result goes, both teams are inconsistent and these are the sort of games we tend to struggle with, but I'm an eternal optimist, so 2-1 boro, Azaz and LL
Smogzilla 8,692 6.7k
Seny's just beaned our Baldy Warm up coach straight in the back of the head during warm ups. Dunno if that's a good omen or ill 🤣
GrimsbyBoro 2,202 2.8k
I would rather have put Jones on the left. He would give some cover for the full back as well.

Maybe the plan is for Delano to soften them up and then bring McGree or Jones on when their RB is on a yellow 🤔
