I think we'd have to see a lot more of Brynn before I could make a judgement, he's not actually really faced that many shots yet either way.

He's played 4 games for us, conceding 9 goals from 17 shots on target, admittedly 5 of those goals and shots were in a scratch cup side.

He's still made some good to great saves, against Oxford especially, but I'll hold fire on my opinion for now.

Some people were raving about Glover at the start of his spell in goal with us before the errors started creeping i

I suppose one difference here is that Glover came to us with an already questionable reputation, Sol Brynn has had great reviews at his loan clubs.

Yeah i'd go along with that. He hasn't been under a lot of pressure yet and that's where you see what a keeper is really made of. As it stands Dieng probably comes back in but i think Sol is ready to be given his chance should Dieng leave in January.

Thought Fry was top tonight can’t remember him putting a foot wrong. Good passing out with pace not dwelling on ball too

  • Burnley v BORO 20.00, Fri 6 Dec Turf Moor (live on sky tele)   This Bit: Hull’s Tigers were left licking their sorry paws after the Lions of Middlesbrough swept them asid

  • We're gonna win 1-6 (Azaz 10,11,24,27,70,90+1)    Rocking up to Turf Moor and double their goals against column, putting ourselves 'right in the conversation' for automatic  😄😂

Dieng

Ayling Ed Clarke Borgess

Howson Hackney

Doak Azaz McGree

Conway.

1. Howson has not been great but his experience against Brownhill and Cullen might be important as I think that battle could be key.

2. Dieng comes in. I am not in the camp who is sceptical about Dieng. He has on the whole done what has been asked of him in his time here and has been our most consistent GK since Schwarzer and Randolph.

3. McGree over Burgzorg if fit hopefully. I would play McGree v Burnley and Leeds and Burgzorg v Millwall. I think McGree ability to play in small pockets could be key in the two away games

Where has this talk come from regarding Dieng leaving in January, or is just football small talk

I think someone mentioned that Spurs were looking at him due to the Vicario injury.....I personally think it's just idle chit chat but you never know.

Sol looks like a steady eddie to me, you get nothing spectacular from him, but he can do a job. His distribution isn't quite as good as Dieng and he is a little more cautious which has its upsides and downsides to it I suppose.

Cheers Jonny, wasnt sure if it had been posted somewhere & I'd missed it.

For the record im happy with Sol playing, big game for the lad this coming friday

Line up predictions?

I'd leave it unchanged from Hull but make three subs at the hour mark to get minutes into returning players, which is absolutely not what Carrick will do.

How many will we win by?

I'd be pleased with a draw, to be honest. Win our home games and draw our away games and we should go up, which is partly why the Blackburn game *** me off so much. If we do win this, there's going to be a lot of automatic promotion chatter, but this and Leeds (A) are two of the toughest games we'll play all season so we need to be pragmatic whatever the score.

Best player to represent both clubs?

No disrespect intended to Burnley, but I couldn't name many of their players because they're not a side I've ever paid any attention to (one of very few northern clubs whose ground I haven't visited at some point), so I'll pass on this one.

Is your tree up yet?

Trees. We have one in the lounge and one in the family room. Both went up on Sunday, but mainly cos it was Sunday rather than because it was the 1st of December.

Sorry I must have missed something on Dieng, why exactly is he supposedly leaving?

Surely a prem team can’t be in for him with how he’s been playing for us? And if they are, it must be good money on the table.. I’d be selling in a heartbeat.

We have Brynn who in a lot of fans eyes is currently preferred to Dieng anyway and the funds from the sale would allow us to invest in a better replacement.

In comparison to others we face very few high XG chances against us but have still conceded 21 goals…

Dieng has a save percentage of just 57.5%, that’s incredibly poor.

Good opening post @marvin

My concern is we have not beaten them since 2015, seven encounters since then with Burnley winning 5 and drawing 2 and Boro very goal shy against them.

If trends need to be reversed then this is it however I put playing Burnley in the same category as playing Blackburn and Coventry so expect the same old stuff to be honest!

Supposedly Spurs are interested in a vaguely competent keeper to cover for Vicario's injury and identified Dieng as the best keeper that will potentially be easy to acquire. Might be nothing, might be something.

I think Spurs might think we aren't such a soft touch to deal with these days after Spence.  I can't see Dieng playing ahead of Forster , so he would probably only get Europa league games - and a big pay rise , I guess. I would prefer us to keep Dieng though.

My guess is it depends on how this month goes as to whether Spurs run with Forster for the rest of the season or not. Might be he gets by OK and Spurs don't push it; might be he struggles and Spurs make a move. Makes sense for them to send out feelers now either way, and we're a club with two pretty reasonable keepers so maybe an easier target than some other clubs? I imagine they have a longlist of like 20 keepers to bring in as a short-term fix if they feel they need one, and I could absolutely imagine Dieng being one of them.
