I don't think so. Brynn has been given 3 games to show what he can do and has definitely passed the test. He wouldn't have been expecting to be immediately promoted to #1 but he now has something to argue his case with. In terms of developing, it's usually good to have an extended experience then a chance to reflect and observe. He'll learn a lot more on the bench now he's experienced the pace and intensity of the Championship so he can look at positioning, distribution, opposing players and so on with more insight.

Keepers are unusual in needing a specified #1 who always plays when available. You don't rotate or drop keepers unless you absolutely have to. That said, I think when you have a young #2 like Brynn who is pushing to prove himself, you need to agree some runs of games during the season when he gets, say, 3 games in a row and a chance to show what he can do outside of a cup game.

Dieng will have seen that Brynn looks genuinely capable of being a first choice keeper in the Championship, so when he comes back in, it pushes him to improve to keep his status.

I wouldn't be averse to Brynn continuing but right now Dieng is #1 and both of them would be expecting Dieng to come back in.

It seems unfair for Sol to be dropped when he's done nothing wrong, and I'm a believer in retaining the shirt if your performances are good enough, but you make the counter-argument very persuasively.

While that is right for outfield players it's just another story when it comes to goalkeepers. I'm sure that Brynn is well aware that Dieng is first choice and Dieng hasn't played himself off that position. He's just had a minor injury. Getting him back in goal might be a slightly disappointment to Brynn but hardly groundbreaking. He's taken his chance well and showed that he can be relied upon. Now he needs to put more pressure on Dieng. First step was to overtake Glover as second choice. Now the next step is to keep applying pressure and show that he is ready whenever Dieng can't play or he goes through a rough patch. Or gets sold.

I think Edmondson and Fry stay in for this one. I suspect Ayling will play too. Be great to have Rav back on the bench.

I'm fascinated to see who Carrick goes with up front. I've seen nothing of Burnley this season so don't know if Lath or Conway will be the better fit. But we know Lath loves playing Leeds.

My gut instinct on the team is

                  Dieng

Ayling.     Fry.     Fridge. Borges

               Howson Hackney

Doak.                Azaz.             Burgzorg

                       Conway

Brynn

Rav

McGree

Dijksteel

Clarke

Barlaser

Lath

Jones

Forss

I would agree with that team, probably what I would go with as McGree and Rav will not be ready to start. They will come in when they are for sure. Lath to start v Leeds

The one area where Sol needs to improve is his angles. Blackburn's disallowed goal shouldn't have got past him. Oxford's 2nd goal he should have got to.

I 100% agree he has done very well. I think him and the coaches will know now where he needs to work.

I fully expect him to be first choice next season. It also wouldn't surprise me if we sell Dieng in Jan and he's promoted then.

What kind of strikers do Burnley have? Neither Clarke, Edmundson or Fry are the quickest. Rav has more which might be better against Leeds though as they have some quick players in attack.

Seem to be mostly starting Rodriguez with Sarmiento behind him as a#10. There are quicker statues than Rodriguez. Don't know if Flemming is injured or why he doesn't seem to be playing. Pretty much their entire threat seems to come from Brownhill who has scored 6 goals from midfield.

Can we crack there miserly defence? I mean only to let in 6 goals this season is very impressive

Oxford had only let in 5 at home before we rocked up. If the players are up for it I think we will be fine. For our current team, attitude is everything. When they are got they are phenomenal.

All true, but didn’t Glover get to keep jersey after Dieng was out last year injured? It took a few games for him to be reinstated I think.

yeah he kinda waited until the case to put Dieng in was way past being undisputed.

I do think maybe they positives in taking him out when doing well, so unlike Glover he isn't getting taken out the team after playing a mare. Espieally with the FA Cup coming up real soon where he bound to get at least one more game

Every time this comes across my feed, I know we’ll lose at the weekend

On a side note is it just me or does their constant praise and backing of us for promotion feel disingenuous?

I don't think it's disingenuous at all, as they've got opposing views, and the views are no different to ones shared on this forum. I think one just recognises the quality we have in the team and how good we could be, and the other one is wrong
