Well I've been counting Magpies in pairs all day (Birds not barcodes) but I'm not superstitious

Hard to believe a Championship side can concede so few goals.  Tonight's the night to change that!

Surprised that Barlaser and Dijksteel are starting ahead of Howson and Ayling: that feels like a big vote of confidence in them from Carrick. No Forss makes me worry that he'll ever be fit enough to start a game. If Forss is available and Gilbert has been chosen ahead of him that's another statement. 

Honestly no idea how this will go. I don't rate Parker as a manager; I feel that he has got teams promoted by being handed the best team in the league and having them limp over the line. Given how many injuries they have and that they keep on grinding out results it feels as though he at least has them well organised.

Still, the fact that it feels like we can go there and challenge them is positive. Whether we *actually* can is going to be a big marker for our season. This is the kind of match we would routinely get routinely beaten 2-0 at.

Tbh I have no idea. Only ever watch Boro games in this league, so never seen this iteration of Burnley. They look tough to beat from the stats though.

Don't think so we all know they are a very good side and their goals conceded should enhance that stance
