Leeds United V Boro 3-1 (Wober OG)

Recommended Posts

I'm taking my brother (adult) to this and I had to use a friend's priority points (who is over 65) to get his ticket. When buying it online it didn't let me change the age range to get an adult ticket for him. Does anyone know if I'll be able to upgrade this to an adult ticket by paying the extra £2? And if so, how?

Played for both teams - Big Jack Charlton - Made a couple of Boro appearances in friendly matches & Boro reserves, scoring in the clubs after season Australian tour & a reserve match v Halifax on the 15th September 1973 - big Jack played in the north midland league reserve game with recently signed Bobby Murdoch to see how his fitness was days before his debut away at Blackpool

Is Leeds a local derby or just another ground to play football on?

Not just another game for me, always a game with an edge to it, more often than not its a game thats had controversial moments in, talking points, plenty of players dismissed over the years

With the likes of Burnley and Leeds do those teams have an advantage due to still receiving parachute payments?

Yes teams with parachute payments will always have an advantage whether they do is another matter

I saw a Leeds player go off injured against Derby which might be an advantage to us but did we suffer any injuries against Burnley?

Fingers crossed we are injury free

Who do you prefer to start ELL or Conway?

Love them both, happy with either to start, I think Carrick may go with Lathe Lath due to his scoring record against them last season

How important is Azaz now to Boro?

At the moment he's a must in our starting eleven

Can you see an away win for Boro?

Yes for sure

It's a weird one in terms of the need for a result. I agree with @TeaCider24 any thing less than a win and automatic positions are definitely gone (i'm inclined to think they've gone anyway) but a draw is a good result as Leeds are a good side.

Despite them losing their first choice left back Firpo, i've been told by the locals that Wober (Firpo's replacement) plays centre half and left back. He's solid defensively but hasn't played in a while.

I'll be drinking with my Dad away from the city centre and taxiing in i think.

Is Leeds a local derby or just another ground to play football on?

Not local enough to be a local Derby. Certainly a big game for both teams though.

With the likes of Burnley and Leeds do those teams have an advantage due to still receiving parachute payments?

Definitely. In my opinion the parachute payments should be reduced significantly and prem teams should be forced to put big relation clauses in their contracts to ease the financial pressure of relegation.

Who do you prefer to start ELL or Conway?

Probably LL for his strength and hold up play in this game.

How important is Azaz now to Boro?

Very. He's scoring a few, but the number of assists and incisive passes he makes is even more important imo.

Can you see an away win for Boro?

Tough game, but I'd can certainly see us getting at least a point. Depends which way the wind is blowing (and hopefully less wind overall than the weekend).

I'll predict 3-2 to Boro with LL, LL and LL scoring.

He only made 12 succesful passes on friday yet had xA of .33 and two key passes which was only slighty bettered by Barlaser who made an actual assist. So while Azaz didn't enjoy much of the ball he's making good use of it.

I'm sure i recall this happening and the person in question being asked to go to the Leeds ticket office to upgrade. Maybe make that your first stop when you arrive?

Is Leeds a local derby or just another ground to play football on?

Having spent a few years in Bradford, I think Leeds regard Bradford and Man United as the big derbies. There's some needle with Boro, but I wouldn't class it as a derby for any reason - geographic, historic or associative. When I meet Leeds fans, they don't tend to snarl at me or punch horses like Sunderland and Newcastle fans might.

With the likes of Burnley and Leeds do those teams have an advantage due to still receiving parachute payments?

As Boro fans, we know from bitter personal experience that having generous transfer funds courtesy of the parachute payments doesn't guarantee success on the pitch!

I saw a Leeds player go off injured against Derby which might be an advantage to us but did we suffer any injuries against Burnley?

Hopefully not, but our players can seemingly injure themselves while watching Strictly, so who knows.

Who do you prefer to start ELL or Conway?

Conway was ineffectual against Burnley, but I'd start him tomorrow and give him 60 minutes before unleashing Lath against a tiring Leeds defence.

How important is Azaz now to Boro?

Very - but I still think Alex Gilbert could be a fine understudy if and when he's fit and Carrick forgives him for whatever terrible transgression Gilbert must have committed to not play more for us this season.

Can you see an away win for Boro?

Honestly, no. But I can see an away draw, which would do me fine considering we're away at the league leaders and by definition it doesn't get harder than that...
