Smith and Lenihan have been out for an eternity and have been fully replaced in the squad.

Engel would be 2nd choice now and Bangura's been replaced and barely played since we signed him, to the point where you can barely give an opinion on him because he played that infrequently.

Of those 5 players, I'd say it's only really van den Berg who's still a genuine regular and we still have plenty of players that can play instead of him.

Exactly my point  apart from Rav the rest have been out a chunk of time and we've covered them (well)

  • The easy thing to say was they pressed us into mistakes but that was hardly the case, we constantly gave the ball away when we weren’t under any pressure. Hackney and Barlaser were doing no look 5 yar

  • Did you know, Leeds haven't conceded in over 1 minute at home!

  • Neverbefore
    Neverbefore

Only thing more embarrassing than this performance is this comment. Last 8 games we've lost 2, drawn 1 and won 5, that's easily play off form.

After Newcastle and Sunderland this is the big game and it's kinda a all or nothing game for our top 2 chances win we be 4 points or 5 depending on other results from top 2. Lose it we be 10 points back and the season will all be about the playoffs. Need to really win this to keep the carrott dangling

I don't think it's quite that drastic. Long way to go... The top 4 will be playing each other at some point, and we still have Burnley Sunderland and Leeds at home to come.

These 2 games were always tough together. From Saturday onwards we have a few winnable games

I agree with @DurhamRed there's no way we're catching Sheff United and Leeds with a 10 and 11 point deficit at this stage of the season. Absolutely no chance.

i have as much confidence winning tonight as i do if we were playing Plymouth at home, were a great team when on it and can beat anyone in the league, hopefully were up for it !

Im the total oppisite, I have more confidence against anyone on our travels, our home form is our achilles heel, which unless we sort out will hinder our top two chances

Massive game tonight seems that no-one is really interested in the game judging by posts so far

Haha. Nice way to get post count up. Reverse psychology.

There are nearly 3k people going down tonight (and its 2 weeks before Xmas) so I am sure people could easily find other things to spend money on. That might be a better barometer as to whether people care as opposed to replies on message board.

I'm too nervous to comment. :classic_unsure:
Really want us to win this. Going to try and watch. Probably peeking through my fingers.

I wouldn’t say absolutely no chance. We’re not even at Christmas yet, plenty of football still left to play and teams have thrown away bigger leads.

Last season Leicester had a 12pt lead on Ipswich by mid-Feb and ended up only finishing 1pt ahead of them.

That being said I think people need to stop focussing on the autos. It would be great if we managed to do it, but we’d be overperforming and it was never the aim at the start of the season imo. The reality is that the teams above us with the exception of possibly the mackems have better squads than us and we’re about where we should be.

I'm certainly going down tonight.

Not to Leeds though, fnarr fnarr

I think the reason for fewer comments is the lack of debate on anything. Everyone knows we are good, everyone knows who our best players are.

For one, the fans, club and manager are aligned. So even if we lose folk are not raging as they have in the past.

Boro away support is massive and a credit to all that travel, even though Oxford is a small ground the Boro fans were easily heard and same with Burnley.

If only the same could be said with The Riverside
