No, I understand that mate but presumably the ability of the player, the reliability of the player, and the cost of the player, all matter as well.  Hayden is a player that I don't particularly rate anyway but he's also been knackered with injuries.  I would say it's quite telling that it's Pompey where he's ended up at the moment.  Either other clubs don't rate him or they want to see him playing a bit more regularly before considering signing him themselves.
