Boro v Blackburn FA Cup 0-1

Recommended Posts

I said the other day that I'd take a cup win over promotion, and I would. Realistically though, there's not much chance of reaching the final even if we do have a couple of good games. With our injury record, and while we are still in the playoffs, I can understand the decision made to rest all 3 of our most dangerous players (even though ELL came on at the end).

Said it was a *** draw when it was made. We never beat Blackburn. Not that I expected such a lackluster performance but I don't think they were any better the first half so maybe they just warmed up faster than we did. You could tell the front four hadn't had many minutes together and there was no cohesion. Barlaser was massively frustrating and when you add the commentator pronouncing his name wrong I was getting very frustrated every time he was mentioned by the end.

I'm not Carrick out by any means. I can appreciate how he is trying to get us to play but we just need a bit more consistency. We're not the finished article yet. Think anyone calling for him to leave because they think the football is pants needs to rewatch our games under Pulis and Warnock. Many more turgid performances in those couple of years before COVID and we are consistently battling for the playoffs now.

That was poor and for all the possesion in the first half the team just didn't work as an attacking unit to create anything. Firmly believe that Coburn is a better st option than Burgzorg. 2nd half was dreadful. Still time but Hamilton looked nowhere near to playing back up to Jones never mind replacing him.

Carrick has said in his interview he’s going to focus on what we did bad today and work on it in preparation  for Saturdays game 🙄

Do you honestly believe that? Come kickoff he’ll be stood like a statue for another 90 mins.

For me, the problem today was lack of pace. We have Latte Lath, Doak, Bangura and Dijksteel that are quick. Bangura is never available, so that leaves us 3 pacy players and one played today.

If you don't have pace in your side, you need physicality and organisation,  they aren't our strong points.

We miss Morris and he is a Mustoe type player I think, snapping around getting his foot in.

I think we need a Leadbitter, Hamilton (Gary), Mick Kennedy type

Not starting a striker? That was the first thing.

Not having a RW to play. There's number 2.

Glover in goal. Number 3.

Terrible decision to play Burgzorg up top.

Hamilton didn't look up to it on the right either. Got to hope Forss comes back quickly and on form.

McGree continues his descent into mediocrity.

Glover is a joke. That was a Lumley level mistake.

Spot on
